Good evening everyone! By now everyone heard the news today about lockdown 2 so for us we are truly blessed we can continue to operate as we did during lockdown 1. Shopping for supplies we found out as of today is going to be a challenge once again and we never thought we would see that again .... So that means our menu will be just our Greek food and Pizza having to stop doing our Tuesday pasta day . We will be posting some more the next 2 days but giving a little news ... heads up for next week . In our 34 years this will be our first New Years Eve we will be open until 7pm but only for pre orders so until Wednesday the 30th you can place your orders for pick up on the 31st Let's hope the 28 days they said gets trimmed for our area because I think everyone here has done their part properly and we don't deserve the restrictions other southern parts of this province have brought up on us ..... Congratulations on the opening of the bridge that will help things get back to what we were used to.... Congratulations to city staff , construction crews and Mr Dennis Kefalas explaining to us in detail the huge necessity this project was and delivering in the time frame set is pretty amazing testament overlooking this project in these difficult times we live . A huge pat on the back to our unique downtown businesses for making it through as we took a finacial hit especi...ally on 9th street and 8th street losing so many parking spaces and delivery zones so extra lanes could be added to help traffic flow .... This event today has made us all happy now all we need is our lives back to how we lived them before march and get the chance to watch our Owen Sound Attack live in person yes ! We miss hockey .... This today also reminds us how blessed we are to live here the amazing place where I was born and since taking over the family buisness the home for our children A huge thank you to our customer base who even if they needed time to find a parking spot supported us during these difficult times. On the 11th at the 11th hour we will stand still and salute those who lost their lives so we can live free today ..... The last 3 years our son Gregory was the youngest person to lay a wreath at the cenotaph in Owen Sound and he has stayed home today to watch the ceremony on tv and for a boy with autism everything in 2020 due to covid has added challenging moments for our family .... Hopefully next year we will be able to once again attend the ceremony side by side at our cenetaph..... Will be listening on CFOS and streaming it on tv from the city's fb page at the restaurant.

Absolutely do not have interest for American politics as if the most influential country in the world came up with these 2 horrible candidates for their presidency no wonder the world has lost all respect for them . A country with so many highly educated people and this is the best they came up with .... My issue is the person in office down south of the border has shown total disrespect towards our Canada and this country here has been a true ally in war and is their bigg...est trading partner in peace times .... My father who was in today and we were talking said these wize words A true leader of a country tries to make friends around the world not enemies .... I know this billionaire that went bankrupt on monday and was a billionaire again in 48 hours has alot of supporters in Canada so my meme that includes me too is for a laugh . Anyone that gets offended by this truly doesn't know me and I've always said even in serious times especially challenging 2020 crack a smile . A quick follow up after my visit to the hospital slight muscle tear which will heal in time so tylenol and creams will do the trick but I am very very lucky to avoid surgery... Achilles here you know the one who thinks he's a true Greek god well not so much today as I think yesterday I did some damage to my arm and couldn't even open the pizza over door today or wrap our souvalkis and gyros today .... thank god family chipped in big time today even mama came and gave us a hand . I usually can suck it up pain wize but realizing something is not right so shutting down a hour early tonight and heading to the hospital so I can get it looked at and get some answers.... Hope everybody is having a great day There was no time to recharge our batteries this year as we put some late hours this week to give our little place a small facelift with respect towards my parents not trying to changing much and keeping our old school feel which we are proud to continue .... Back at it on Tuesday and we must say wow the whole week we did our renovations the phone wouldnt stop ringing all day which totally spoke straight into our hearts. Feeling the from the best customers in north America God bless.

We will be closed this week for some family time /preparing kids for back to school and mini renovations at the restaurant. We are back after Labor day and once again a huge thank you to all for making our year number 6 since taking over and year 33 of Europa the most unique to date and feeling in our hearts the love and support you have... sent us since life became a bit more different and challenging... We are still debating on how we will come back if we add a few tables but the truth is in our 33 years we were always 50% take out and we truly are loving the way we are operating at the moment with the proper measures in social distance in place . Posting a few pics we took from a restaurant we sat on the island of Hippocrates Kos with a view of the sunset that only compares to Santorini and the resort Kefalos that was home for 10 years and proud our daughter got to see .... Well we have been super blessed during these challenging different times and covid 19 entered our lives to have continued to atleast go to work . The love , respect and support our family has felt has been unbelievable and a HUGE HUMBLE THANK ...YOU TO ALL . The heat in July and August and putting our full year in has kinda drained our batteries so we are taking a few days off to spend it with the kids and continue our mini renovations at the restaurant. You dont script this .... So Mr Gregory comes to visit us this afternoon as the weather was just perfect for him to come with his walker . As soon as he passed our door the postman delivered this huge envelope which said Mr Gregory Stavrou so we opened it and a beautiful gesture by https://www.facebook.com/alexruffforbgos/ towards our father for his 80th birthday That shows respect and put a smile on my fathers face Alot of people dont know his story but my father s...tarted working 12 years old and was a machinist . He completed a polytechnic school in Pireaus and became a 3rd engineer on the boats traveling the whole world. Incredible money back in the day . Out of the countries he did visit he liked Canada and made the choice to give up that profession so he could start a family and things came together in north America as he lived in NY for a while as well . Since 1967 Owen Sound became home and in 1977 opened up his first Athena Pizza on 9th street . In 1981 he sold the buisness moving back to Greece for 7 years . Came back to Owen Sound in 1988 and opened up Europa on 8th street and where we have always been . 6 years ago he passed on the keys to us laying with my mother a very solid foundation and we have kept their blueprint down to a tee . My parents when ever they are out and about love how they are recognized and people show their respects to them and we would like to say a huge thank you to this great community for that as well Its been 1 year since pops had his spinal surgery in London. We had to shut down the restaurant so we could be by his side down there . Our customers understood and supported us in those difficult moments last year and now continue during these unknown times to show us love and appreciation. Good evening everyone. Well as of tomorrow phase 3 starts and every place is adjusting differently. We are not ready yet to start serving indoors ( even though we received tons of phone calls for info on that today ) and will re evaluate in September our decision but for the time being we love the concept we have adapted 4 months now of doing take out and we will continue doing just take out . Speaking with local health officials who saw our set up in the restaurant ...with emphasis on proper social distance we have the green light to continue serving as we have 4 months now as we are challenged in our working environment with the 500 degrees heat our stone pizza oven is at . The IQ level is high in humans so we believe zero tolerance on finger pointing on the mask issue . Our lives are already challenged enough we are all trying to keep positive and move forward and achieve some level of normalcy. One thing that remains very special for us is when we see you all come in to pick up your orders a simple quick hello is magic every time . The little moments in life that are not so little WE someone with autism. So Gregory comes every day for a few hours and makes pizza boxes and shredded a few blocks of mozzarella cheese for us and its great to have him with us . Hope everybody is having a relaxing day and following the new guidelines for safety to be priority one as we move forward trying to get life back as we knew it for all Today I m just putting out a kind reminder how things have changed for all of us and as a family buisness adapting to receiving phone calls for orders from Monday for Friday evening . We are a small 3 persons operation we have trimmed our menu to Greek food and pizza only and Fr...iday is a very challenging day for us so please please please if you are to place a order for that day the earlier the better because by afternoon especially our pizza orders are backed until 7pm . Toula has put a voice message explaining but it seems nobody is listening to it so today we are just telling whats on that message. If you cant get a line we might be taking a order, if you call twice without getting a answer its probably because we are fully booked and cant take any more orders . Please do not leave a message on the answering machine for a order we cant get to them . Some people the last few days have told us when did we open back up as we are always closed ? Well if you came up to our door during the last 3 months and found it shut you probably came on a Saturday or Sunday . We havent closed since last JULY/AUGUST for pops health scare . The last 3 months we have been called a essential service we are OPEN Monday to Friday 11:30 to 7pm and are blessed to have received amazing support from this great community we live in and a fantastic customer base which shows us love . We hope you all feel that back . After 3 months you can see everywhere you go people not happy to be in line waiting and patience growing thin please try to understand a bit more all those trying to the best of their abilities to accommodate everyone everywhere . There are a few great stories including winners that brought in prizes for us and when we chose to double a prize when we learned a winner was a nursing student who works on the frontline at a local long term care home and was able to share the prize. The meaning in life that little things are much more than just little things is on constant repeat the last few weeks and brings humble smiles to my wife and I when people are stopping by to say a quick hey our meal last night was soooo good and made us smile wow yes the joy in the eyes is magnificent to see Thank you thank you thank you Just a kind reminder for tomorrow Friday we have 2 huge pizza order...s that gives a very small opening who ever wants pizza tomorrow and thats between 3 to 4 pm . After 4 we have pizza orders taking us until closing time so on the phone we will be taking only orders for Greek food . We apologize for the inconvenience and hope we have everyones understanding .
