You don’t know what a community needs unless you share their lived experience, says Selina Martinez, architectural designer at @asu_IDC. It's just one insight from her #UnexpectedSolutions panel on Indigenous design and re-Indigenizing cities https://bit.ly/2HdLVie

Join us for a conversation about how artists can, and increasingly do, shape policy. This online panel will touch on artists' involvement around urban watershed systems, Indigenous waterways, land relationships & more. Tomorrow, 3-5pm. Register for free!

Donate to Evergreen today and your gift will be doubled! www.evergreen.ca/donate Its been 30 years since Evergreen was founded, and in the beginning, tree-planting was at the heart of our work. While our ambitions and programs have grown since then, our love for and dedication to nature in our cities has not changed.... Earlier this year, the City of Torontos Ravine Strategy Implementation Plan was announced. Evergreen is a key partner with the City and Toronto & Region Conservation Authority in advancing one of the first projects in the Ravine Strategy, the Loop Trail - creating an 81km continuous, multi-use trail that would knit together the ravine systems for all to enjoy. By donating today, your gift will have double the impact and help communities grow from the ground up. Because when our greenspace flourishes, our cities do too.

Resiliency - like teaching people how to grow food on their condo balcony or make compost at home - is a fundamental part of our work and an idea that has driven our organization since our earliest tree-planting days. Even since we've been physical distancing, our Lead Hand in Urban Agriculture, Isaac Crosby, has been spreading the plant love, all online, all delivered to you in the comfort and safety of your homes through a weekly video series! For us to build resilient com...munities from the ground up, we need your support. Donate to Evergreen today and your donation will be matched! www.evergreen.ca/donate/from-the-ground-up/

Resiliency, the ability to survive, adapt and grow despite stresses, setbacks, and shocks, is a fundamental part of Evergreens work and an idea that has driven our organization ever since our earliest tree-planting days. For us, building from the ground up means finding value, purpose and joy in things like planting urban gardens, protecting native trees and teaching our children to care for the earth. These are some of the elements that grow and nourish thriving communities and can be the foundation of a resilient future where cities are healthy, low carbon, inclusive to all and sustainable at their core. But we need your support. Donate to Evergreen today, and together we can build resilient communities, from the ground up. www.evergreen.ca/fromthegroundup

Sometimes the best way forward is looking back. During this Earth Month, and especially during these unusual times, we are reflecting deeply on our responsibility to one another and to the planet. The profound power of nature and food has long been a pillar of Evergreens work. We have spent decades connecting children, caregivers and the wider community to the kind of creativity, learning and improved social outcomes that emerge from nature-based play and education, resilient food systems and gardening. Here, we explore some of the innovative ways we can bring Evergreen to your homes and provide tried-and-true resources to help you continue your relationship with food and nature, even if youre spending less time outside. http://ow.ly/1R5i50zeWAs

These are unprecedented times, but we are in this together. Even though we must do our part and practice social distancing, that doesnt mean we cant stay connected! At Evergreen, we are looking at new ways to connect and create community through our programs and online. Check back often for more details over the coming weeks. For now, all public programs at the Evergreen Brick Works site are suspended until further notice. But the paths and trails throughout the Lower Don remain open for walks and fresh air when you can.
