South Bruce Peninsula update. Beach open for walk through only. NO SITTING, STANDING STILL even if you are watching your chidren play in the water.
No standing still on beach even if watching your children swim.
Walk only on beaches no staanding still even if you are watching the children swim. You must be in the ware with them to stand still.
Of all the times not to have a camera, Mike and I saw a white-tailed doe with her fawn at the back of the property late this afternoon. The fawn just came to her knees, and No camera.
Birding has been difficult this year, as you were not allowed to go to your birding spots. So these are birds I was lucky enough to get pictures of. The warblers are back however, they are camera shy and flit around continually.
Marina is open with restrictions in place.
New for Baby!!!!
Some birds seen so far this Spring
Many of our guests are wondering why we do not have answers as to when we will be open this year. For Mike and I the question isn't just when but IF we will be open this year. YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US! We do not want anything to happen to any of our guests because of our actions. Unlike many businesses you are extended family to us. Our children grew up with many of you. Mike's parents knew your parents, and now many of your children are bringing their ...children. We simply could not live with ourselves if something happened to you. Evergreen is ALSO OUR FAMILY HOME. It is true Mike and I have moved off the property due to my worsening health, but Mike still goes to work every day. If we open will he be able to come home? Then there is Becca and her famly, Rachel and her family, and Darcy and Max. That is not even thinking of keeping our staff safe. Will we be able to self distance which will be a requirement when they open up our sector which is in the third stage, the last stage. Just think there still will be no pool opened, no sitting by the fireplace, no dance night, no sing-a-longs, no activites inside the resort. No card night with Mike.s freshly made cookies. No Friday night showtime with Sticky Buns. No large family tables in the dining room. Not so many in the dining room. It breaks my heart thinking about it. However I will be happy to know that if I don't get to see you this year I will next year 2021. So lets hope for the best. Keep safe, happy and healthy. Take care, Debbie See more
ONTARIO The Ontario government is urging all residents of that province to stay home whenever possible. Beyond that, there is no evidence on the province's website that suggests travel within the province including to seasonal properties is in any way limited.... However, Premier Doug Ford has urged cottagers to "hold off" on visiting their properties this weekend after it became clear that many popular cottage communities were uncomfortable with the idea of hosting out-of-town guests. According to the government's website, nobody in Ontario should be having any visitors except those they "must" see. Gatherings are limited to a maximum of five people, unless all present are members of the same household.
Press Release 13 AMENDED May 15, 2020 at 2:15 pm As the Province begins to relax the restrictions put in place due to the COVID19 pan...demic, many of our businesses will open their doors for the first time in months. We continue to take measures to keep our community safe while making it possible for people to begin to start their lives, realizing a new normal. BEACHES, SHORELINE PARKS AND BOAT LAUNCHES At this time, there is a Public Health Order in place which keeps our beaches, and parks beside a shore, CLOSED-this includes Sauble Beach and Bluewater Park. Boat launches are open except Bluewater Park which remains closed. By-Law enforcement is patrolling and will ticket anyone who is in a closed area. We thank you for being respectful of the Order and our enforcement officers. PAID PARKING AT SAUBLE BEACH We have decided that we will not enforce the Paid Parking program at Sauble Beach until June 27. This program usually begins on June 1 however we realize that these have been challenging times and we want to support our businesses as they begin to slowly open for the summer season. There will be no charge for parking until June 27. FIRE BAN Today the Ministry of Natural Resources lifted the Bruce Peninsula Fire Ban. Effective May 16 at 12:01 am, you are now free to have bonfires but please remember they are to be contained to a 2ftx2ft pit and never leave a burning fire unattended. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in South Bruce Peninsula for your patience and support of one another as we navigate through this pandemic. Now more than ever we need to be vigilant and remember that as our community begins to open, we are all in this together. Practice physical distancing, wash your hands, wear face protection and stay safe. Janice Jackson, Mayor Town of South Bruce Peninsula
Ontario is extending the Declaration of Emergency to June 2. This will help ensure the province has the tools and healthcare capacity to contain #COVID19, while gradually reopening the economy. Learn more: https://news.ontario.ca//declaration-of-emergency-extended
