Ministry Development Centre Construction Update: More rain this week (a lot) continues to hamper construction progress. Still, we were able to complete the footing stem wall on Dorm A and complete all the rebar grid layout for the Dining Hall floor slab. I'm waiting on one more concrete quote for the cost of pouring the Dining Hall floor before we do the work. Dorm A is now at the stage where we must raise up the earth interiors with fill and, as always, compact as we go. ...In the same way we will also need to build up some of the low exterior areas of Dorm A to prepare a sub-floor base for a walkway that will surround the building. This will all begin this coming week. The land area we have for the MDC has a nice grade on it to help water naturally drain off of it. This is certainly a positive. There is; however, one low spot that captures water currently, and that is in the area where we want to build the Garage/Storage Building. Slowly by slowly, we are adding fill as we can, to shape and grade this area to also drain properly. It will take more time to fill and shape this area for drainage before we will be able to build on it. Hoping/trying to see this area ready for building in March/April of next year. Have a most blessed Sunday and week ahead! See more

GOD is working: Last year (2019) Waterloo Pentecostal church contacted us as they were looking to partner with us to provide help wherever most needed. We shared with them about an orphanage we partner with where 30 plus girls, who are removed from abusive situations, find a haven of peace, hope, love, and joy. Although the orphanage receives local financial help on an inconsistent basis, every month they are left struggling to provide enough food for all the children. Wat...erloo Pentecostal raised significant funds to provide healthy and nutritious food for the orphanage on a monthly basis for the year 2020. We had no idea the powerful impact this monthly donation would be for the orphanage in 2020. When the pandemic hit, although other avenues of help dried up for the orphanage, the monthly donation from Waterloo Pentecostal has been the lifeline for the orphanage allowing the staff to continue to meet all the nutritional needs of the children. We thank God for this lifeline of financial support that has removed the burden from the staff of wondering how they will feed the children each month. #Godisgood #thankingGod #Waterloopentecostal #partnership #makingadifference See more

Carpentry Trade School Construction Update: we are excited by the progress made over the last couple of weeks. The last part of the stem wall was completed and a lot of caliche fill and compaction has been done within the building's interior. More fill and compaction will continue over the next week - then we will be able to layout the plumbing systems which will run under the concrete floor slab. After this, we will need to pour the floor slab before we can continue with any of the building walls. We have a very good crew of 3 guys working at this site and they are looking forward to completing this sub-floor work and get the floor poured. Thank you for your interest, prayers and support of this exciting project! God Bless.

MDC Construction Update: another very good week of progress, even with some significant rain. We have reached 4 blocks high now on Dorm A building's stem wall. We think we are close enough to the finish floor level to not need another row of blocks - but can just prepare forms to pour a floor level ring beam. This is good news for saving both time and materials. We've also run a water feed line to the water cistern and a bought in an underground tube into the front of the ...building for future power. We continue to "cut and fill" soil from the high point of the project site in order to prepare for the future Central Meeting Hall building, and locate the place for the electrical distribution sub-panel. We cannot get permanent power to the various buildings until we have this sub-panel completed. As we cut and fill, we are collecting the good topsoil for later use in finish landscaping and using the spoil and red clay to fill in the low areas of the site where Dorm A and Dorm B are located. Although no pictures this week, we have fine tuned the subfloor in the Dining Hall in preparations for laying in the floor rebar. After that, we will pour the floor. We've mentioned wanting to do this a couple of times in the past, but for various reasons we have had to delay. It is actually happening this time so some excitement is building. God Bless and have a great weekend everyone! See more
