In the event of disputes with an airline, the Canadian Transportation Agency is not the only avenue for dispute resolution. The Small Claims court in your respective jurisdictions will likely have some very user-friendly processes. For example, in British Columbia starting June 1, 2017 we will have the Civil Resolution Tribunal (entirely online) to resolve disputes below $5,000.

Update: Air Canada Flight Pass National Class Action *Certified* On December 15, 2016, the representative plaintiff presented his proposed class action against Air Canada on behalf of all Canadian consumers who purchased a Flight Pass from Air Canada’s website on August 25-28, 2015 and thereafter had their Flight Passes revoked by Air Canada due to an alleged pricing error. The hearing took place at the Superior Court of Québec in the District of Montréal. On January 27, 2017..., the Superior Court of Québec has certified/authorized the class action to proceed to a merits trial.
