~ADOPTION PENDING~ Orange you glad they were rescued? Quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing litter of all time. The girls are in red, the boys are in green. 2 boys, 2 girls! 1 of each colour and hair style, they are absolutely perfect! These beautiful babies were rescued by Derrick Collins out in Hare Bay. Derrick’s sister helped him get the kittens into the shelter. Derrick takes care of one or two ferals I believe in his shed. One of the ferals had the fo...ur kittens. Derrick gave them a bed, litter trained them and fed them. He even made a little house made out of a shrub covering, outside, and put warm clothes in there for them as well. These kittens were taken care of with lots of love. Thank you Derrick! It’s easy to see how much love was put into them. They are extremely sweet kittens, they love people and cuddling one eachother. The kittens are around 9 weeks, have been dewormed and received their first vaccination. Weve got our own hurricane Teddy on the move today! Since Teddy was neutered and had his matts shaved off he seems much happier! This is the best Ive ever seen him move around and hes loving being able to stretch those back legs. Severely matted hair can restrict movement of animals to the point where theyre in constant pain and unable to walk properly. Zippo might be the best cat ever. She looks cool, she acts cool, she is cool. A young female with a very friendly personality, always welcomes attention and gets along fine with the other cats. Melanie & Amy wanted to help the cat who needed it most. Teddy has never made himself comfortable in the busy shelter since he arrived. His hind end was matted and he had a waddle to his walk which needed an X-ray. His neuter went great, hes been shaved into a lion and the waddle was the result of shallow hips not an injury! Batman got some bad news at the vet. He has tested positive for FIV/FeLV and had high sugars. On the plus side his other bloodwork was normal. Hes been put on insulin (1 needle a day) and a special diet. After living as a stray for years hes had his fair share of fights with other cats. Hes coated in battle wounds and scars, which is where he contracted the diseases. He can live a relatively normal life as a carrier of both but would need to be in a home without any other ...cats. So here we have a senior, diabetic, FIV/FeLV positive cat who has just realized how much he loves it inside. Listen to the purrs! He is full of life and full of love. He deserves a chance to find a retirement home. Batmans going to be looking for someone (a literal angel of a human) who has a good understanding of his conditions. He may have months or years but he deserves to live the rest of his life in maximum comfort. This sweet little sook is Nova. Shes a previously owned kitty who has the new to the shelter blues. Her previous owner said shell love to sleep in the bed with you and even recognize when its bed time. She loves cheek rubs, been known to over eat on tuna and wet food is the way to her heart. Making him permanently adorable and very hard to say no to. Charlies around 60 pounds, on the large side of medium with an athletic build. We have a mega awkward situation developing down at the shelter. Puss and Puss are both previously owned cats who know and love their name. ADOPTED! Soot, Smoke, Smudge were found as newborns in an abandoned fish plant in Gaultois. They are from the Wharf Cat colony, taken care of by a group of wonderful locals. Their mom was spayed at their TNR clinic and the kittens were found a couple days after. Thankfully mom and babies were able to be fostered by a lovely woman name Pamela until they were ready for adoption. She has helped turn them into the sweetest little cherubs who love attention. The kittens are ...now 8 weeks old but super petite like many others coming in from that colony. They look about 6 weeks old and fit nicely in your hand. Two boys to left and one girl on the right! Batman lived as a stray with a caretaker for around 10 years. You have to move slow and quietly to gain his trust but after that its clear how happy he is to be inside. He loves attention. He has an appointment at the vet this week, hoping for clearance to start looking for a perfect retirement home.

Chester has been visiting a house for months. The couple began looking after him and he started calling out to them for attention and rubs. Once caught they put him in their bathroom for safe keeping, only to find him stretched out in the bathtub purring away. Unfortunately their cats dont like other cats and he has to find a new home. This week we said see ya later to our beautiful mama dog Mila. She did an amazing job raising her TEN puppies and now her hard work is done. The puppies are successfully weaned and shes headed out on trial to be a baby in a new home. Just one last adorable video first! Good luck Mila!

Batman because it was the first thing that came to mind or Tweedy for his tweed textured coat. This is our newest dear darling soul. He has been living outside in Campbellton for the last 10 odd years. His caretaker was so heartbroken to catch him and bring him in but his new retirement life will be so great. He needs to see a vet and recover before hes able to look for a home but first he needs a name.

Congrats to Casey who came in 3rd place at the Catamaran Parks Labour Day Dog Show! Casey was adopted from the SPCA almost 10 years ago and has been top dog in her owners hearts ever since. Shes pictured with owners David and Nate Miller. Yay Casey!

~OUT ON TRIAL~ Charlie is a Chocolate Lab mix. He is wonderful. Hes around 4 years old, not yet neutered but needs to be ASAP. Charlie recently returned to the shelter after being adopted a few weeks back. The family experienced some food aggression so he was assessed by a dog trainer prior to going back up for adoption. Thankfully there was no aggression found in the assessment. The trainer (Mike) found that Charlie responds well to strong leadership and requires it in a... home going forward. It showed Charlie is a happy dog who needs guidance and boundaries in his life. Mike is willing to work with any home who takes Charlie in if needed. Charlies very loveable and smart. He listens (begrudgingly at times) to commands especially when food or toys are involved. This guy is athletic and fun, he loves to play fetch! Charlies a large breed dog weighing in around 80 pounds, he needs a home who can commit to exercise and adventures. A walk a day wont cut the mustard. Its not that hes hyper (hes actually quite calm) but he loves to run and swim. He isnt bad on leash and is good with other dogs when properly introduced. He would likely love to have a dog brother or sister. Charlies looking for a confident and experienced owner to show he can be the sweetest chocolate youll ever find.
