Hello, Fairview Community and friends! Ordinarily, today, on Christmas Eve, our community would gather in person for a Christmas Eve Church Service in our Center Auditorium. This is a much anticipated event, where everyone can see one another and wish one another well for the holidays. Instead of gathering in person this year, we have been gathering at a physical distance in small groups of three or four in Long Term Care and the Fairview Suites to watch a special Virtual Chr...istmas Eve Service, featuring readings from the Christmas story read by residents and staff from all areas of our Fairview community. Though we are keeping our distance at this time, it is good to be able to see and hear familiar people in this virtual way, and to celebrate the season together. Please enjoy our special 2020 Virtual Christmas Eve Church Service, with readings provided by members of the Fairview community, and music provided by Elisa Bosley of spiritualeldercare.com (used by permission, copyright 2020). We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Santa arrived early, probably due to the amount of gifts that were donated from the Kindness Trees. The faces in these pictures say it all. It has been a tough year but Christmas is still Merry at Fairview. Thanks to all our Friends and Families that donated. Special thanks to: Dale Shantz Nancy and Heather da la Mothe... We are excited for this partnership - Welcome St. Louis students !! Fairview Seniors Community is privileged to enter into this training initiative with St. Louis, given the overwhelming need for PSWs in our Community, Long Term Care, Retirement and Home and Community, Elaine Shantz, Fairview Parkwood Communities CEO. This enriched learning model feels like exactly the right fit for our campus of care. We are truly pleased to see this partnership unfold.

Aloha, On Wednesday in LTC we celebrated a Hawaiian themed day. We enjoyed Pina Coladas, tropical themed games and a Hawaiian meal. We even enjoyed soaking up the sunshine on our patio while reading some fun facts about Hawaii. Travel restrictions may still be in place but here at Fairview it sure felt like we spent the day in a tropical paradise.

In honour of June being Seniors’ Month, the residents in our community have brought together some life advice!
This week we celebrated Father’s day a little early with a friendly Strongman/woman competition. We played various rounds of pool noodle toss, Frisbee toss, hockey shootout, beanbag toss and paper airplane races. We kept score for each round of course. A little friendly competition never hurt anyone; many laughs were had by all. We will have to have a final championship round to find out which Man and Woman are the strongest overall here at Fairview. In order to make Father’s day a little extra special we will celebrate with some coffee and donuts on Sunday too.
