This is my favorite Norwegian regional folk dance. I can do this dance all day long and never tire of doing so.
My Norwegian American husband and I would attend these folk dance workshops for years. I recommend joining in for the fun. This event will be held via Zoom from... March 19-21, 2021. There will be dances and fiddle playing, and it'll be so much fun. Here's the link to the schedule: https://folklorevillage.org/spring-scandinavian-weekend/ I'll be participating and I'm super-stoked to dance again, even if it is an online event. See more
Today we said our final farewell to one of our founding members, Cliff Hansen, June 16; 1929 - October 11; 2020. Always you will be remembered as a great dancer but more importantly a ambassador of the Norwegian culture. You will be missed.
Please note the changes made to our annual Christmas in Markerville. To ensure the safety of our community, we will not be offering the vendor or concession portion. The Cookie Walk will offer thousands of homemade cookies. Pre-orders are accepted at [email protected]
Our neighbour museum at Markerville, is hosting their annual Cookie Walk and Christmas in Markerville. Be sure to check it out!
Sneak peek at a socially-distanced dance we re-choregraphed and recorded today for some upcoming online events. Folks should recognize it as Lappakatrilli with some modifications.
