Between bake sales, auctions, raffles and more, First Canadian Financial Group raised $8,939.45 towards our United Way goals. Add that to our employee pledges and employer matching and we are very happy to report a grand total of $107,053.81 raised for this years United Way Campaign! Those funds will go towards supporting the programs and initiatives that fight poverty, support youth, and build strong and healthy communities across Canada. November may be over, but our staff are keeping Movember alive! This year, our Account Managers in British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba decided to put their mustaches’ to the test in a friendly competition. Which team could raise the most money with the power of their Facial Hair? Captain of the BC team, Ryan Powell tried to live out his dream of having a Magnum P.I stash, while Don Berdusco used the power of his adorable pup to rack in the donations! In Edmonton, Brian Mc...Elwain did things a little differently, with all donations to him going towards shaving off his mustache of 7 years! In Manitoba, Movember has a special place in their hearts. A dear friend and Colleague, Brent McDonald, recently passed away after a long and courageous battle with Cancer, so every dollar they raise is in his honour. Our teams hard work and dedication paid off and they managed to raise $10,561! Globally, more than 1.4M men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, and the need for donations doesn’t disappear with the mustaches. Fall is here! To chase away the pre-winter chills, our staff warmed their hearts (and filled their stomachs) with our yearly United Way of the Alberta Capital Region Bake Sale! All those delicious treats led to our staff raising $428.35!

A HUGE Thank You to our amazing staff! Over the course of the month of August our staff worked hard fundraising for the Tools for School Pencil Case Drive in support of the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region! Split into three teams, they raced to build the most pencil cases (with one team even running a bake sale, soup day, and popcorn day in order to collect even more donations!). All this work resulted in us building 479 pencil cases! That’s 479 students that will get a little extra help with their school supplies this year! We’d also love to spot lite Team 2, who won the race with 253 pencil cases built! #ToolsForSchool

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so last Friday, we treated our staff to our annual pancake breakfast! Big thanks to all our staff who helped put everything together. Our taste buds appreciated it!

Our Staff understand that calories don’t count on #MiracleTreatDay, especially when the proceeds of all Blizzards sold go to local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals!

Who doesn’t love a Book Sale? We’ve mixed our love of reading with our love of helping others. Yesterday, First Canadian enjoyed a Used Book Sale! All the books were donated by our amazing staff and all the proceed will be going to the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region
