With the passing of Janice Alton, Niagara’s arts community is mourning the loss of a hard-working member and steadfast supporter. Janice spent decades in and around the theatre as a dancer and dance teacher, and most recently as head of costumes at Garden City Productions. In addition to assisting us with costumes in both large and small ways over the years, Janice has been a vocal and enthusiastic champion of Firehall and its programming as an audience member. Most cherished, though, has been the very personal support she has given to many of our performers, designers, and crew who have come to know, appreciate, and love her. Creative, honest, and undoubtedly one-of-a-kind, Janice will be greatly missed.

In the fall of 2013, Firehall last brought Blood Relations, the award-winning play about Lizzie Borden to the stage. Directed by Michael Madden and starring Laurel Candler as Lizzie, this was definitely a production that made the cut. Were you in our audience to unravel the mystery?
