Today is the day we honour the sacrifices and lives lost of veterans / warriors to keep our country and way of life free. We Will Remember Them...... Offer your tobacco today, take 2 minutes of silence, lay a wreath, or visit a cenotaph and lest we forget. Your requests received have been offered to the sacred fire.... Miigwech, First Peoples @ Seneca TO: All students and employees RE: Virtual Remembrance Day ceremony at 10:40 a.m. The Seneca community was invited to join the annual Remembrance Day ceremony starting at 10:40 a.m. today. The virtual ceremony observed two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. to mark the sacrifices of the many who have fallen in service and to acknowledge the courage of those who still serve. If you have not been outside yet, please go look at the super moon known as hunters moon, it is beautiful. Hunters moon follows falling leaves moon, which allows the hunters to have better view of moose and deer and elk, and gives the hunter lots of light in which they can hunt longer giving the hunter more time to harvest meat for the cold winter ahead, when the land freezes and prepares a blanket of snow to cover our mother the earth, so she can rest for a few months, now is the time to make sure you have harvested and prepared for the next 4 months of cold and darkness, its also a time to shed anything that is weighing you down, time to prepare for storytelling with your families. Pass on teaching and lessons while we slow down and spend time indoors. Hai Hai Migwech Hunter moon.
