Is there any evidence to back using The BodyTalk System to treat addictions? Here is some academic research on energy medicine modalities for treating addiction.... Not BodyTalk specifically but the Meridian systems, other energy systems, the pain body and more that are all addressed with BodyTalk. BodyTalkers++ brings together a multitude of modalities. I have my new quit smoking program on 50% off tomorrow through Monday. 11 group sessions, 1 individual session and more including 50% off additional sessions through the 6 week journey. www.fisherfamilybodytalk.com to learn more See more

You're Fine, You're ok, Just forget about it, hey look what I have for you... how many ways do we try to distract from pain, gloss over or invalidate the feelings of others.. particularly our kids. This is one of my biggest pet peeves for me now that I have learned so much about emotional regulation. Children under 3 do not have the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus development to adequately turn off their stress responses they learn to regulate their emotions by the coregula...tion by their caregivers. The architecture of the brain is formed in those early years and if they are left to deal with their big feelings alone, the feeling are overwhelming and they learn to just repress them and not feel them. Like a train going through a tunnel, emotions must have their motion and if you don't let them flow through their process (typically takes 5-8 minutes to fully process an emotion plus the 90 seconds to really become aware of what the emotions are) the train gets stuck in the tunnel and we build up our emotions in our body. What the mind suppressed the body expresses. So it is utterly important for us to validate their feelings no matter how insignificant or crazy it may seem to us.. it feels real for them. To hold space and empathetically listen. To understand where they are coming from before trying to give them the answers - or better yet working with them to problem solve the solution for themself. I didn't know how to do this. I didn't know how to feel my own stuff let around be comfortable sitting with my kids through theirs. Now that I've done the work (and continue to do the work) on myself the ability to hold space and empathetically listen is getting easier all the time and the rewards of it- the closer relationships, children who are now becoming skilled at their own self regulation and empathy- have been well worth the risk. I challenge you to never use the words "You're fine" again... As in this video, meet them where they are at, Be Sadness not Joy. https://youtu.be/t685WM5R6aM See more
