We are really into celebrating the small stuff and wanted to share something with you from this past week. Our #floworkers started a Walking Club! It all happens over Slack and has been keeping us inspired and motivated to get our WFH bodies moving. Plus, it's resulted in a channel full of spectacular sunset pictures like this one taken by Emily, whose walks have (enviably!) been along beaches in PEI. What small celebrations have you had this week? ... Shoutout to @loyobofit and @studiomethodguelph who have also been motivating us to get moving! See more
Check out this cool Google Chrome extension! It suggests local small business alternatives to items on Amazon. Repost from @goodgoodgoodco on Instagram: A new browser extension is hoping to help make online shopping LOCALLY as easy and convenient as shopping on Amazon.... It's called Sook, and it's available in 20 cities in the U.S. and just launched in Canada. Consumers can use the extension in Chrome to select one of the 12 categories like dresses & jumpsuits, kids clothes & toys, and home & garden and it will display items at local shops by price or distance. Or, if you're shopping on a larger retailer's website (like Amazon, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Zara, and more) the extension will automatically display similar alternatives nearby at local shops. The way that online shopping has been developed, it’s made for large corporate retail, not small, local businesses, Sook founder Jonathan Sandals told Toronto Now. It wasn’t made to make it easy to buy a jacket five miles away, it was made to make it easy to buy a bottom-of-the-barrel jacket in a warehouse on the other side of the world. Sandals got approval from Google back in August, and got started launching it. Technology, for good: shopping and supporting small businesses! See more
It's friday! Closing out this work week means you get to have a fresh start next week. Have a great weekend.
Go do that thing! Future you is grateful.
Do you have a brand you are loyal to because of their "Why"? Our Chief Buzz Builder, Crystal Wilson, who could buy leggings anywhere, only buys from Aerie solely because of their commitment to diversity in their modelling and advertising. And also because they are smooth like butter.
Can you relate? Maybe it is time to call on some administrative support. Send us a DM! Very relatable post by @lucy_hunt on Twitter.
