Maskne ...... It’s no joke ! Whether we like it or not, it appears protective face masks are here to stay , at least for the time being . As a result we have an entire new word to describe what’s going on under that mask .... maskne Friction , sweat , humidity, oil and makeup are a few of the triggers of maskne that can occur on your lower face . Here are a few tips to keep a clear complexion while staying safe and healthy Choose the proper mask. ... disposable paper is... best , ( I know , I know ... the waste !) always being sure it is clean and fresh . Next is cotton , it causes less friction and is breathable reducing the amount of humidity and heat buildup. Always make sure your mask is clean , a dirty mask is a breeding ground for acne. Revisit your skin cleansing routine It is always a good idea to have a proper skin care routine but right now it is critical. You must wash your face twice a day and bonus points if you add in a deep cleansing clay mask twice a week. Always apply a moisturizer and protect your skins natural barrier. With your mask constantly rubbing on your skin it will wear down the natural barrier causing inflammation, irritation and infections. Reconsider the need for makeup... no one can see it anyways. Play up your eyes When makeup gets trapped in the hot and humid climate in that mask it is a fast road to clogged pores and breakouts. So my last client has been cancelled and the decision to shut Forever Young Skin Studio down until further notice has been made. These are very uncertain times and my hope is that by making this decision I do my small part in keeping you , my friends, family and community safe I will still be able to provide you with all of your skincare products delivered directly to your door so please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can help you with.
