From all of us at Freedom's Gate we would like to thank all of our amazing supporters. We would be unable to continue saving horses if it weren't for the ongoing support of each and every one of you! We are excited to have a new donation platform that will make our lives easier as well as be more convenient for you. This link will automatically issue you a tax receipt! To make a one time donation or set up a monthly donation please click the following link. We are so gratef...ul for every single donation no matter the size. Even $1.00 helps the horses! https://app.simplyk.io//a61842d0-f35e-4351-8fb7-a771f62fdd

Huge shout out to amazing companies that go above and beyond!! Thank you On Call Service Center for donating this thing of beauty! (Trust me, in a wide open Fe...ild where there are no nearby hidy holes, this thing is amazing!!) Not to mention when people come to see horses for adoption as well as volunteers will have the convenience of staying a bit longer rather than having to leave when nature calls!! See more

**Freedom’s Gate adoptable horse** Name:Buddy (previously known as Roach) Age: approx 18... Sex: gelding Breed: QH (x?) This amazing boy came into care almost 5 months ago with broken bones and a severe infection in his face. His sweet personality never let his real pain show, but we know it was there. He underwent major facial surgery in January and with the help of an amazing team of caregivers he is all healed up and ready for his next chapter. Buddy is a shy guy who will need a patient, gentle person. He has a very kind and gentle soul and truly wants to please. We have been told he is trained to drive, but have not assessed this. We assessed him under saddle and, while he took the saddle well, we do not feel he has been ridden much, if at all. Buddy would be a wonderful companion horse. He would love nothing more than to take an early retirement to be a friend for another horse or 2, roam on some pasture and be loved on by his person. I do, however, feel that if he found the right person he just might be happy to learn some new things! Buddy is a very special guy and takes up a lot of space in my heart. He’s had a bumpy road and he truly deserves to have a loving forever family now. He is the low man in the herd and is very easy to get along with. He’s been living with a mare and foal, another gelding and some donkeys and gets along with everyone. Buddy isn’t partial to his name. It really was just a nickname that stuck. His original name just didn’t sit well with us, but we couldn’t find another that felt right. He would be ok with a new, manly name. He also has a few covid pounds to lose, but he’s exercising lots and would prefer you didn’t mention it.

Corinne Hunt Made a bunch of beautiful pieces of jewelry out of some hair we saved from a couple of our treasured horses Belle (The Clydesdale) and Rolex. We wi...ll be auctioning them off to raise funds for current and future horses, as we know Belle and Rolex would want that. Rolex was indeed the patriarch of the rescue. 1st horse into Freedom's Gate Equine Rescue. This beautiful boy we purchased from the meat buyer to put him down as we felt that that is where he was at. So thin, lethargic. But he came out of that trailer like he was 2 and never looked back! Rolex worried me and many others on a regular basis as we never knew when it was his time. Rolex finally told me last fall/early winter that he needed to say goodbye. Rolex past away last year at 35 years old. He was in our care for nearly 5 years. Belle never made it to the rescue, my dear friend Sabina Reska went on a mission for me to pick her up after I was sent many messages about this poor horse. The previous owner had her posted for $2500. We ended up paying $500 for her, sight unseen. When Sabina arrived to pick her up She nearly fell over in shock. Belle should have weighed over 2000lbs. She was lucky to weigh 1500. Belle was scared of people as well. Not only was Belle horrifically under weight, she suffered from severe CPL. So badly that she had maggots crawling all over her hind legs. She has severe wounds that required care many times a day, vet assistance, antibiotics, shaving her legs, daily soaks etc. Sabina Reska was absolutely pivitol in Belles care, and we can't thank her and her Husband Pete enough for the blood sweat and most definitely the tears that they put into it. Their help is so very appreciated! Belle passed away from complications of her lack of care from her previous home. Once our current tack auction is over, I will post the jewelry on that page. It will be a short 24 hour or less auction. Please make a note of it! You won't want to miss the opportunity to have this amazing gift to cherish.

Edit: Springhouse, Williams lake!!! Edit 2: (Did the truck have a thin white stripe on the upper level Running the full length of the truck? Possibly a wider w...hite marking on the lower section? Big tires and a good size lift? We saw a truck like that and I noticed the hood of the unit was definitely a different, brighter green than what the side of the truck were, the beige makes sense. So the actual hood of the truck is very noticeable different colour from the rest of the truck. The grill may have been a straight bar type grill. I would say the truck was maybe 2007-2010 ish. We noticed a Bicycle tire peeking out the back of the box also.) Some asshole just robbed my tackroom and waved at our hay customers as he left. He took a brand new brown and tan leather bareback back pad made by Mark Denny, a black dressage saddle and navy blue pad with pockets, a circle y quarter horse saddle. He's driving a jacked up green and edit: beige old Ford. Share the shit out of this This guy was just spotted at the dump here on Dog creek! This is the dressage saddle and I'm looking for pictures of the others. Here's the Western. And picture of their truck tire tracks. See more

Last night, with freezing temperatures dipping below -35C, another shipment of 100+ horses sat for hours on the tarmac before being exported out of Winnipeg’s J...ames Armstrong Richardson International Airport. The Winnipeg Humane Society urges supporters to contact their MP and ask they help put a stop this inhumane practice. Ok, after hanging out with Peanut and discovering what a love he is, I had no option but to go out and Grab Whiskey!! Another great guy! Whiskey isn't a fan of ...being caught, but it took me all of a couple minutes to get him to come to me. Haltered up and off we went, no issues leaving the herd at all. Saddles up no problem, rode in a bitless, good with ferrier, good walk, trot, canter, Loads etc etc Whiskey Gelding 26yrs? (also in great spirits, no lamness etc) Adoption is $500 or $800 for Peanut and Whiskey together.

Such a nice guy! Peanut Gelding 28years? (He doesn't seem this old, I have to say) $500 or $800 for both Peanut and Whiskey together

With a heavy heart but hopeful mind, ISO of a new home for this lonely guy! Free to an approved home. I can’t pay regular boarding fees. I have fostered horses... here and hoping there will be someone who can do the same for him, paying it forward I can maintain ownership and pay for his needs; I just can’t take on another horse to be his companion. He’s fully retired (not rideable) and just needs a buddy and some pasture. I’m not able to care for him the way he deserves with my current situation. Pm me for more details See more

Dear Ford Canada / Ford Motor Company : I am a founding member of Freedom's Gate Equine Rescue, a non profit, charitable horse rescue based in Salmon Arm, BC, Serving all of BC and AB. We are a nationwide charity that does everything possible to save abused, neglected, abandoned horses. I have been a Ford owner since I was 16 years old. 1st car was a 1986 Ford Mustang GLX, moving into a 1995 Mustang GT convertible, and then onto a 1990 Ford F250, And now on my second F350.... My family is and has always been a Ford family. My brother was an employee of Ford for a couple decades (sales, sales manager, GSM). I purchased a 2005 f350 and of course endured the hardship of the 6.0L issues (nearly 15k in repairs.). Unfortunately we were the victims of arson last year and our truck was literally blown up. Now the rescue purchased an 06' F350. We were told the repairs were completed prior to our purchase. This was confirmed by Chilliwack Ford service department prior to the purchase. It turns out this was not correct. We have been notified now, that our truck is no longer driveable until repaired. Head gasket, injectors and who knows what else. We are reaching out to you in hopes you will see a benefit to helping us, and becoming partners in saving animals, and keeping Ford in the horse world. We would be happy to have your advertising on our truck and trailer as well as all of our social media, website etc. In exchange for help with our current issue and ongoing regular maintenance of our rescue truck. We have 1000's of people that follow our rescue, and the goodwill of Ford to help us would stretch far and wide. We have attached a short video for you to view to get a little insight into the rescue and what we do. We look forward to hearing from you :) Sincerely Carly Marchand-Jones Freedom's Gate Equine Rescue Society https://youtu.be/CtOQtqR-UKo
