Our flight off La Gonave on the morning of the 16th. Bye, bye Anse a Galet, 20 minutes at 140 knots to the international airport in Port au Prince.

With all the roof rebuilt, we added 2" of EPS foam sheets before starting to install the new roof steel. You can see in the photo how I dealt with the 5" elevation difference. The final roof steel and ridge cap was completed on the 15th. It was a tough deadline with no extentions. Thanks to a hard working team shown here chowing down at lunch.

The 2nd portion of roof had been an addition where the exterior walls were found to be 5" higher than the original house. Also the front porch roof had previously extended to the the house peak. Both of these items necessitated on the fly design changes to best economize our limited materials. The resulting interior open roof concept will lower the interior temperature of the house as A/C is not an option here.
