Greetings and Blessings Today, Holy Thursday, we will remember our Lord's wonderful teachings on serving others and then His emotional pain in preparing for His sacrifice on our behalf. Tomorrow, on Good Friday, we will remember with solemness, His sacrifice on the cross. Man did his worst for 3 hours and then God did His best for 3 more hours.... On Saturday we will reflect on the emptiness the apostles and disciples felt in their spirits without having Jesus walking with them, and teaching them all manner of things pertaining to God and His coming Kingdom. Then, early on Sunday morning we will join the throngs of Christians throughout the world, who for almost 2000 years have repeated with joy, the words of the angel in the empty tomb; HE IS RISEN! I’m very concerned that so many countries seem to be in a self-destruct mode. It is discouraging. On the whole, the general population has rejected God, denied Him, removed Him from family, school and the public arena. The moral compass has moved from respecting the will of God to making sinful conduct the accepted norm. I worry that today’s Church, like that of Laodicea, is so lukewarm it may soon be beyond restoration. On re-studying Habakkuk lately I see the similarities... to today. Hab 1:3-4 Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted. (NIV) Peace be with you. - Pastor Tom
