Some visitors at my doorstep tonight. Is it ball season yet?

The Grade 7 and older girls were not going to be outdone as they too played their parents and guardians during the final night of Fall Ball under the lights. 5 Degrees, but everyone was hot at the bat! See you all in the spring with friends and you never know we may try some spring training next year! It truly is about the fun with friends!

You know that the girls are enjoying softball when the still show up to the field when they are wearing a winter coat, stocking cap and mittens!

Even though there is a chance of rain today, ball will go ahead today. If the rain begins and gets too heavy, we will re-evaluate, but as of now all is a go. Stay dry

It is 12:24pm and I have just checked the field and forecast. The rain is not going to be stopping any time soon. Softball is cancelled today. Sorry girls!

For parents’ information, in case of softball not going ahead due to weather, an announcement will be made at noon so that everyone has an opportunity to make plans for your child.

FALL BALL Hi everyone, I am sorry that it has taken a while to get back to you, but we have been working out some things with regards to offering Fall Ball - this is a new and exciting thing for our association. We have decided to offer "Fall Ball" with Gander Minor Softball Association Starting this Tuesday, September 8 and going for 5 or 6 weeks. The rationale for not having a firm date is that we will guarantee 5 weeks that will take us up to October 9th. If the weather i...s still cooperating, we will continue until October 16. Just as we have no desire to have your children play ball in 30 degree temperatures, we also do not have a desire for them to play in temperatures that are too cold. The schedule will be a little different as we will be having 2 sessions per age group per week and it will be immediately after school is out so please take note of the times and days. Grade 6 and younger: Tuesday and Friday from 3:30 - 5:00 Grade 7 and older: Monday and Thursday from 3:00 - 4:30 (Will miss Monday this week due to holiday, but we will bake that day up during the fall) This gives your child an opportunity to get home from school. We have added an extra 15 minutes to the sessions which will allow for players to get to the field and not feel rushed. Same COVID-19 Protocols will be in place and I must say how impressed we were with your children for following the rules we had in place and for that we thank you. The fee for the sessions will be $50 per child and $80 per family. If you have already completed a registration form, there is no need for another unless you do not want photos of your child or her name mentioned on our FB Page. I hope to see you at the field! The U16 girls had a great game under the lights tonight. We cannot say enough thank-yous to the coaches, Maddy H, Maddy C, and Camryn for providing excellent coaching for the girls. Thank you to all the players who soaked up everything they were taught and made this summer such a great success. And finally, to the parents and guardians who trusted in our softball program and provided encouragement to our U16 and U12 players this summer. We are excited for what lies ahead for the program as we look to next year. Have a great offseason, but never stop trying to improve. Be safe and have fun!

It looks like the rain is over so tonight’s u16 game is a go

Forecast is showing possible thunder showers throughout the day, but ending around 6:30. Things should clear up before our game for the U16 under the lights. We will post a final decision at 6:30, but all looks good to go.

U16 Game on Sunday. (On field with lights) As the U16 girls were scheduled to have pizza following practice today, we will now plan to have pizza before their game on Sunday evening. Pizza will be served at 7:30pm and warmup for the game will start at 8:00. It is not the most ideal way, but we feel it would be too late to have pizza after the game.

Watching the dark clouds roll in an knowing there is a risk of thunder this morning, for the safety of the players and coaches, softball is cancelled for today. We know that this will be disappointing for the kids on the last regular day, but on day one we said we would put safety first.

Due to the weather, softball is cancelled this morning. We will update early this afternoon if the U12 parent-player game will be going ahead. The weather looks good for this evening.
