Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work, and National Day of Mourning. According to the Workers' Compensation Board - Alberta, "Alberta lost 165 people to workplace injury or illness in 2019." Today we're thinking of those who were killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace-related accidents, and remind everyone to take proper health and safety precautions every day to prevent further workplace tragedies from occurring.

#SafetyTip: To help keep yourself and road workers safe, always use caution and slow down when approaching a construction zone. Also keep plenty of space between your vehicle and the one ahead of you, as it may stop suddenly.

#SafetyTip: This winter, walk slowly and wear footwear with slip-resistant soles. This will provide traction and help prevent slipping on ice and snow!

It's better to be safe than sorry ! Happy Halloween, friends!

Halloween is right around the corner! If you've carved a jack-o'-lantern and are planning to light it with a candle, remember to never leave it unattended and ensure it's out of your pet's reach. They may burn themselves or knock it over, which can cause a fire. , as a safer option, consider lighting your jack-o'-lantern with a glow stick or battery-operated candle instead!
