Happy Monday! We hope your 2021 year is off to a great start. In light of the provincial lockdown announcement made on December 21st, we would like to remind everyone that in-person services for George Jeffrey Children's Centre for the week of January 4th January 8th will be limited to only essential visits. COVID can't stop the staff at George Jeffrey Children's Centre! We are having a drive thru holiday party today until 1:30 pm! Santa and some of his elves are here and of course Gentle George! Christmas music is playing too! Each child/youth (even their siblings) get a gift and each family is receiving a hamper with a ham, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, vegetables, cookies, a beverage, pancake mix and syrup.... Thanks to donors and sponsorship dollars from Kiwanis Thunder Bay and IG Wealth Management we’ve been able to improvise and provide some holiday cheer for our kiddos and their families. We are on the corner of Brock and Ford Streets Drive by and honk and we promise we will wave back!

Connor Gives Impala Canada a Thumbs Up! On Friday, October 23rd, representatives from Impala Canada visited George Jeffrey Children’s Centre to deliver their donation of 250 youth and child sized masks. A few of George Jeffrey Children’s Centre staff were on hand to accept the donation from Impala Canada, but, most importantly, Connor was on hand to accept their donation! Six year old Connor Swoluk gave Impala Canada the thumbs up because these masks will help keep him and ...his clinicians safe while he’s at the Centre for one of his appointments. Connor is one of the 1,800+ children and youth seen at George Jeffrey Children’s Centre each year and he’s been coming to the GJCC since he was two years old. Connor’s mom Ashley says, The Centre has been a huge support to Connor and our entire family and he’s come such a long way. Watching him climb up the stairs today was amazing to see and proof of his progress. Thank you Impala Canada! Your commitment to our community and to safety is evident in this kind donation of child and youth masks. Cindy replaces Steve MacDonald who has moved back to Southern Ontario.
