"I love working as an Occupational Therapist with older adults because it’s a rewarding challenge to try to remove barriers for people who want to live as independently and fully as possible. It soon becomes clear that taking small (or big!) risks is a meaningful part of life and can contribute greatly to a person’s quality of life, sense of autonomy and identity." -Catherine-Anne Murray, Occupational Therapist, Seniors’ Health/Geriatrics Outreach, Central Zone, Nova Scotia Health Authority

Camp Hill is looking festive! A big thanks to Nova Scotia Power who set up Christmas lights on the tree by the cenotaph yesterday and to the military volunteers... from Canadian Forces Base Halifax - Base des Forces canadiennes de Halifax who decorated the Veterans Memorial Garden. The centerpiece of garden is the tree donated to Camp Hill by Their Honors. The tree was presented to Mrs. Margaret Guildford, who is a veteran of the Second World War and is a resident of Camp Hill; and Heather White, Director at Camp Hill. Current exhibition of portraits I made working with children who are living with epilepsy and their families and caregivers. The exhibit is at Museum of Natural... History. It Is part of Halifaxs participation in The Big DrawFestival 2019. The works were generated from a 4 month, qualitative, arts based study as part of a collaboration with paediatric neurologist, Dr. Wendy Stewart and Melanie MacGillivray med 3 student at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB),. All participants were from New Brunswick Canada. We continue to carry out analysis of the study data,(incl. images, journals and transcripts), and exploring how we can effectively integrate the works and associated narratives into Medical Education. Moreover, the exhibition offers researchers a further opportunity to evaluate audience response. We are grateful to all the participants a nd their families for their time, support and generosity of spirit. During recruitment, we were fortunate to have Dr. Ken Rockwood and colleagues from Halifax provide clinical services to the seniors of Cape Breton. We are deeply grateful for that support and commitment. We are also pleased that he will continue to support the clinic to ensure a smooth transition to the new physicians. Dr. Rockwood deserves significant credit for the work he has done.
