Sometimes I wonder if some installers try to see how many code violations they can make on a job and to see how sloppy they can install the heat pumps. This is a job that the homeowner can’t get ahold of them to do a service call and is also paying us $1500+HST just to fix as many code violations as we see. Powering two heat pumps off the same disconnect? I can’t stand hacks in my trade or the silver tongue salesman that brag how good their installers are. I normally don’t like other companies knowing about my operation techniques but I see that some of the most important tips to operate AC mode are being forgotten. This is only a year old unit and wheel is full of mould. Operating tips for cooling and dry mode: #1: High or super high speed fan to try to reduce the lingering moisture buildup on fan wheel, plastic vanes and casing. #2: Switch unit to heat mode once a week during air conditioning season and turn it up all the wa...y (temperature and fan speed) run for about 15 minutes after the fan comes on high speed. This will help dry, bake and prevent mould accumulation. #3: Never just shut off AC or dry mode because all the cold surfaces will sweat and mould up. Leave on cooling mode high speed fan and turn up temperature so the outdoor unit shuts off but the indoor fan stays running for about an hour to warm and dry the cold surfaces. Then you can shut off the cooling if desired. I know other companies are gonna take this knowledge as their own design but my customers’ heat pumps are more important than them.
