If your child is entering Kindergarten at Gibsons OR Langdale Elementary and you are looking for after school care please register with Kidz Club Gibsons during the month of June. Registration packages will be available as of June 1st and must be completed and returned by June 24th. To pick up a registration package please contact us at 604-741-5339 as the school is closed to adults at this time. On the first day of school in September we will book days for September, if ...you are not registered you will not be able to book days. Booking is done by text message; more details on that will be released at a later date. As of 3 pm today, we have 13 newly trained babysitters. All qualified with Canadian Red Cross training. Child care is tough out there these days. Maybe consider a couple of hours of quality care with one of these trained babysitters.

Hello families, as summer approaches please be aware that due to covid protocols and the lack of care on the coast. We will be providing care to our regular families first. Those who have been registered for at least one school year and have used us for a minimum of twice a month. If you are in need of care (and not just a loop hole to have a play date) you are welcome to register with us, if spots are available you will be slotted in after our regular families. We apologize for the restrictions we have been forced to imply and hope for safer times to come. Hello all, As many are aware, February would usually bring us to our annual Facebook auction. After some discussion, it was decided that we will NOT be doing our annual auction/fundraiser this year. The community has been extremely generous these past months, with donations to support our community school food programs and the families in our community. We believe that some of our smaller (and larger) businesses who would regularly donate to this event, have already been hit... hard with covid 19 and we do not wish to put any excess stress on them. I had accidently sent out the first one with the price we use when we provide snack. During covid you are all providing your child with their own snack, therefore paying a little less. September 28 is a pro D day, we will be open 8:30-4:30. ... Hello all, I have been receiving a few emails in regards to after school care and breakfast club. Please be patient as we continue to get the answers for you. Does it currently look like we will be providing care, yes. How that will look however is still in the works. As the schools settle on what there upcoming weeks will look like we will have more answers for you. We are also ready to provide breakfast and sandwiches to those looking for a little extra. However again, currently we are waiting on school protocols to know how this will look. Please watch this page and I will update as I get answers. Hello all, I have had many questions about September and what Kidz Club will look like in the fall. Unfortunately I have no answers for you as of yet. The complexities of schools resuming are still being worked out and until they know how it will look for each school, I will not be able to assume anything. I will let you know that with school back we will be continuing with care, how that will look is unknown at this time. I don't believe it will change in regards to spots/nu...mbers as to what I currently have now. These numbers are drastically reduced due to Covid protocols. Please know that although we may have occasional open spots, the esw kids in our care currently will have priority. Any guesses what day today is at Gibsons Coastal Kids? Some outside play, snack, and bike time!!! Yeah for bikes!!

Our awesome staff of Jess, Jack and Sierra are back and preparing for another summer of fun at Gibsons Coastal Kids. Unfortunately we have a very limited number of spots due to "covid" restrictions and are required to accept participants in a certain "tiered" order. As of today, this process will now remain in effect for both July and August. I have reached out to those who will be participants and we are now full. Each of you who has children attending camp have been sent an... email with protocols and procedures to follow for camp. Please read the email that came from Gibsons Area Comunnity Schools, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. I am very sorry if you were not contacted, I understand your frustration, but again please contact the local CCRR as they are the referel organization if spots become available in other care facilities. As promised I am updating our summer camp situation. Well ... I have the proverbial good news bad news. Good news we will be going ahead with camp!! Yeah!! Bad news, restrictions are still in place so we have a very limited number of spots, these spots are NOT first come first serve. These spots must go in a certain order, first is tier 1 esw, tier 2, etc., these are the children that have been in our care all along. From being staffed and zoomed, during school shut down by... our wonderful EA’s to going back to after school Kidz Club with our equally marvelous Community School staff. If you have alternative care I suggest you consider it, as our limited spots are pretty much full feel free to contact your local CCRR (child care resource & referral) @ 604-885- 5657 as they are the designated resource for any openings. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers along with a few very enthusiastic school garden club members (with parent permission and physical distancing of course) The community garden is still going strong! They take only what the can use, then donate extras to our local food banks. Truly such giving souls, in a time when we need to be kind.

Hopefully everyone has a relaxing weekend and breathing before the last week until voluntary school returns June 1. Hello All, I hope this finds you and your family doing well. We will be receiving information from the Superintendent shortly detailing what the next phase of Education will look like on the Sunshine Coast, along with a survey to assess changing needs for families based on the new education phase. Please make sure that you answer that survey so that SD46 staff can make informed decisions. We are currently trying to assess what our KIDZ CLUB families’ needs will be through Jun...e, and moving into the summer. As of June 1, schools will be going back into session at a limited capacity. At KIDZ CLUB we will be doing our best to meet our families’ needs as our communities open up. We will continue to prioritize care for ESW's, but also need to get a sense of what other needs you may have. At this point, we cannot tell you what our capacity will be, if you are lucky enough to have access to alternative arrangements, I encourage you to continue using them. If you are currently registered with our program, and would have your child in school, you can reply to the following questions and email to [email protected] 1. Are you an ESW? 2. Will you require KIDZ CLUB afterschool care (regular fees will apply), and what days of the week? 3. How many children do you require care for? 4. Wow, it’s been a busy week and a half. Our esw kids have been keeping busy with all kinds of activities... outside their zoom meetings of course ... they have been on walks, rode scooters and bikes, painted some really cool unicorns, butterflies and dinosaurs. Turned over logs for bugs and worms (gross, lol) and made kites and planted sunflowers. Thanks to an amazing team of EA’s and wonderful respectful group of kids. So many personalities, so much fun. Keeping them safe, healthy and happy. Stay safe, stay home and Please be patient with yourselves. We got this.

We’ve been tagged!! But in a good way, some kind souls have been going around town tagging businesses. I’ve seen them and thought wow, that’s nice We walked up to this, this morning. Love it, thanks for making a typical dreary Friday morning a great start!!

Addition to update!! Omg I am so sorry, I knew I was wading into dangerous waters naming people but these people do so much and never ask for accolades ... I neglected to thank two very important people and who they work for. Why did I forget, because they were the FIRST to offer me assistance to get things going, and unfortunately those are always the ones you forget because you know they are there for the community. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you to camp Elphinestone YMCA and particularly, Ron & Lisa Miller-Stiver for everything you have done and are still offering to do. You are community!
