Congratulations to Jackie Gilholm - winner of the Employee Payroll Donation Program Draw for November. Thanks to the team at Shoppers for helping us acknowledge the hard working health care employees that choose to donate to the local hospital through Glace Bay Hospital Foundation’s Payroll Deduction Program!

What a great night! Thank you to Everyone who came out to support this fundraiser. With your help, we raised a total of $2,222.50 for the Glace Bay Hospital Foundation! Thank You to our hosts Angelo and his fabulous Team at the Cape Breton Drive-In. Angelo also won the 50/50 draw and donated his $243.50 winnings back to the foundation. Thank You to our Sponsor, Gary Chant, MECO DKI Construction, for the $1,000 donation that helps to cover the cost of running the drive-i...n for the evening. Mr. Chant has been a great support to our foundation over the years, as well as so many other local charities. Thank You to our volunteers from the hospital Dr. David Ley and Taylor Burke, RN, as well as Georgina Fraser, Administration, and the Switchboard Team who assists with ticket sales and promotion. Thank You to our volunteers from the CBU Nursing Society, Rebekah Barrett, Madeline Johnson, Megan Kenny, and Kellsey Landry for taking care of the 50/50 sales for us! Thank you to our volunteer foundation board members who give their time year-round to make fundraisers like these happen. Shout-out to Morah Hemsworth who helped with the door prizes! And last, but not least, thank you to all our local radio and tv stations who promote our fundraisers free-of-charge through their online events calendars and shout-outs on-air. What a beautiful celebration took place today on this gorgeous Fall day at the Glace Bay Hospital. The Grand Opening of the Tom Peach Renal Dialysis Clinic was an uplifting ceremony filled with testimony to the tremendous philanthropy of the late Thomas Peach in memory of his parents John William and Mary Bell (MacLeod) Peach. This Dialysis Unit close to home will save hundreds of hours of travel and waiting time for 24 patients and their families traveling to Sydney for tre...atment. Thank you to Mr. Peach and all the other donors to this cause and to the partners in the development of this unit. We, at the foundation, continue to fundraise for state-of-the-art equipment for the units of the hospital, including, for example, the Emergency Department and the Eye Clinic. Thank You
