Description The Firearms Sales Associate position involves constant interaction with customers explaining product benefits and fulfilling customer needs regarding firearms and shooting accessories. Helping customers is combined with store maintenance activities such as stocking shelves, merchandising and general housekeeping. MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES o Provide friendly, informed sales o Guide customers to location of products o Suggest value-added and related products o Stock shelves and display areas o Keep stock clean, faced and orderly o Locate products in the warehouse o Unpacking deliveries o Keep informed of stock, promotions & in-store deals o Maintain professional appearance (according to company policy) o Follow company, store and department policies o Complete other tasks, as required MAJOR REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES o Ability to provide professional customer service and support o Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals o Ability to maintain composure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment o Ability to complete tasks according to instructions and demonstrate responsibility for outcomes o Approachability o Punctuality o Knowledge of competitive sports and recreational shooting activities o Effective written and oral communication Skills and Abilities o Security and Safety A Restricted and Non-Restricted Possession and Acquisition Licenseis required Knowledge of current firearms regulations Type Of Experience o 2-5 years of varied shooting experience o Salesperson/clerk experience is an asset but training is available o Product Experience/Knowledge o Hunting, recreational and tactical firearms Essential Skills o Continuous learning o Computer use (MS Office, POS system) o Critical thinking o Decision making o Problem solving o Initiative o Ability to work as a team o Oral & written communication skills o Numeracy skills Specific Skills o Suggestive selling skills o Suggest ways to care for goods o Provide advice about merchandise. o Customer service oriented o Work with minimal supervision o Must be able to work evening shifts and weekends, as required o Must be able to lift up to 32 kg safely
