HOLE IN ONE Congratulations to Bill McIsaac who recorded a HOLE IN ONE on #7 on the Sunset Course. He was playing with Alistar McIlveen.

Revenge of the Superintendent was a GREAT success. All 94 golfers were treated to some sucker pins, cold and windy conditions that were broken up with a delicious chilli lunch! Tee blocks and pins were put in some spooky spots for Halloween. Muligans were given to each golfer one per nine and proved to be an added challenge of deciding when was the right time to use them. Some teams were successful in using them and some just disappeared like a in the night.... We has a THREE WAY TIE for FIRST place in the Men’s Division: Brian Stewart with John Hoy, Kirk Stewart with Jim Desson and Dave Morgenroth with Devin Johnson who shot an impressive -7 (63). Winners in RETRO going back to Hole 7 (we played the back nine first) was Dave Morgenroth and Devin Johnson 2 Place was Kirk Stewart and Jim Desson 3 Place was Brian Stewart and John Hoy 4 Place was Derek Anderson and Brian Dean with 65. 5 Austin O’Meara and Blake Muxlow with 68. Ashley Gravett Journal Entry October 13th 2020: 25,000+ Steps 6 Podcasts: Spitting Chiclets, 2x Dax Shepard, Angie Lee, Off the Vine, Sibling Rivalry covering a wide variety of topics today keeping me entertained! 4 Lites of Water Drank Shovelled approx 1,000,000 plugs off the greens. ... Today we aerated the Sunset greens and shovelled off all the plugs in one day. What a great day! Thank you to all our workers for working really hard to get it all done. This is one of the top 3 jobs a Superintendent does in a season and I’m always up for the challenge. Thank you for your patience while we work tirelessly doing the necessary maintenance on the greens for short and long term longevity! See more

What a FABULOUS day we had at St Thomas Golf and Country Club for the NGCOA Annual Golf Tournament. This was the first time in 18 years we were all able to attend. Special thank you to Tag, Graham and Kaitlyn for working so we could make this happen! We had a few eagle putts yesterday but were happy to walk away with Birdies as our eagle putts were above the hole and our first two putter liped out and rolled 20-30 feet past the hole. What an unbelievably gorgeous... but challenging track. Highlight for Gary and Kirk was that they got to get off at the subway stop after of our LadyPro Ashley all day as she had to play from the Pro Tees. We had just the BEST time and the weather was perfect for October golf! See more

Men’s Closing Day Tournament on Sunday, Oct 4th was a typical October day. We pushed back the Men’s Closing by 5 hours shortened it to 9 holes and fed the golfers before they teed off in a cross over start. WHAT A SEASON for our Men’s Night TEAMS! The numbers were extremely close moving into the final two weeks. Each golfer is placed into a Team on Draft Night. Each week we count the BEST Low Gross Score and 3 LOW NET scores for each team and add their totals to the running total for the year. REPEAT CHAMPIONS were Team TIGER WOODS with Captain Kirk Stewart. Including in Kirks team was: Jim Desson, Ryan Shelton, Larry Million, Ralphy Rubino, Martyn Tooley, Len Sunnucks, Barney Purser, Mark Reed and Paul Barna.

WOW! What a finish to yesterday’s Senior Men’s 27 Hole Boom Gravett Scramble. There were a lot of impressive scores throughout the 27 holes but again the tournament came down to how players performed on our Par 3 Course to determine a winner. This year we had two teams finishing with a TIE of -19 score. The teams of: Bob Williams, Kelly Stout, J.R. McAnulty, Lee Tomlinson tied Bill Peters, Paul Dougherty, Doug Wilson and Scott Fuller. Both teams headed to the 100-yar...d marker on Hole # 18 with a closest to the pin winning the tournament. Bob Williams was closest to the pin with 10 feet 2 inches away from the hole. Doug Wilson was close behind him for the other team. Congratulations to Overall Winners: Bob Williams, Kelly Stout, J.R. McAnulty, and Lee Tomlinson.
