Funny story... Brad was working in Lynn Lake for the last few weeks and this year we decided to get a ‘real’ tree for Xmas. I wanted to wait till he got home to pick and cut one down as a family. Instead he found one up north and decided it was too nice to pass up and brought it home After travelling for over an hour in the air in the side carrier our final product is pretty nice! Our Cessna 185 that was blown over by a wind storm last month is being shipped down south for repair. We are thankful that we could work out a deal to get it airworthy again as it has been in the family for so long and we couldn’t part with it. Yesterday was a scary day for everyone in Snow Lake. For a short period of time a microburst of wind hit some parts of the town and did quite a lot of damage. Knocking hydro poles down cutting the power to most of town, demolishing trees, trampolines and other play structures and pulling shingles off of roofs. Our Cessna 185 was flipped upside down like a toy plane doing major structural damage to almost every component of the plane. Glad that no one got hurt during this devastating event. The plane has been roped off and will be dismantled in the next few days. Stay safe everyone and enjoy the sun as you all deserve it! What I like about flying helicopters is the ability to land pretty much where you want too. Today’s job involves slinging 4 Lund boats to an outpost camp in north eastern Manitoba and finding a landing spot while my co-pilot manoeuvred the boats into position for the camp owner to put motors on them. #astar #coulddothisallday #avgeeks #avgeek #bushpilot #swampdonkey
