Thursday Feb 2 **National Sweater Day** (duh?) Good ice - good skating - nice sunshine - snow later!

Wednesday Feb 1 Rink is completely rebuilt after the warm weather and now is perfect for skating & shinny. Just cleaned overnight snow off, but still snowing a little. Two good scrapers at the rink - please use before / after your skate.

Friday Jan 20 Kids and neighbours skated a lot last weekend and Monday after school, and the schoolboys up the street skated on the snow days Tuesday & Wednesday, but now the ice is too soft. Waiting for colder weather again.

Monday Jan 16 2017 My neighbour made a good start on the rink and lots of people skated over the weekend, including my two kids who were out there for 3 hours yesterday afternoon. Weather not looking good for immediate future, but we will have several weeks of skating after the coming warm spell.

Wednesday Dec 7. I will be in Philippines for a few weeks over the New Year and will not get a start on the rink until after mid-January. My neighbour may get a chance to start something on it before I get back, otherwise all you skaters will just have to be patient a bit longer. Friday Mar 11. The Golfview Heights Skating Rink has now officially been renamed to The Golfview Heights Glacier. It is still a big chunk of ice, but it is receding slowly.

Wednesday/Thursday Mar 9/10. Hahaha - it's been raining since yesterday and I chunked several drain spots into the ice, but it still looks like a beautiful flat skating rink out there, with a film of water on top. If it froze overnight we'd still be able to play hockey in the park. The hose and shovel guy from the city dropped by yesterday, and he said all the other rinks in the city are empty, grassy space since weeks ago! He reckons our ice won't be gone till about July!

Tuesday Mar 8. We decided, with 2 weeks at least of upcoming warm weather on the horizon, that it is time to call it a season, and put away the hoses, nets, and shovels. We had many good skating days this winter in spite of the late start and the 4 (count 'em) thaws in the past 10 weeks. See you again next winter.

Monday Mar 7. Peterborough Examiner took a bunch of photos at KIDS OUTDOOR HOCKEY DAY and put some in the paper today. I haven't seen the printed version, but the online one is available

Sunday Mar 6. Had good ice again today and several people came to skate. Nathaniel & Dylan skated in the afternoon, too. After this weekend it will be too warm to keep the rink going, so I think we'll call it finished for the year.
