Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers. I know this is not the Mother’s Day we had envisioned just a short time ago and that, once again, many of us are not going to be able to spend time with our mothers. It will be another day of special deliveries to our moms and contact limited to phone calls, ZOOM meetings and facetime. This is the best way to express our love for our mothers as Nova Scotia goes through this difficult timeand maybe an IOU or rain check for this summer when things will be back to somewhat normal. Today, we all just want our mothers to stay safe. So, Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. I am so lucky to have some great moms in my life...my mother, my wife and my daughter. So, if you can, make today as special as you can for the mothers in your life.

Our government is committed to protecting the health and safety of seniors in long-term care. That’s why we’re investing $6.2 million to establish six Regional Care Units across the province that will help reduce and manage the spread of COVID-19. Each unit will have specialized resources, and dedicated staff like occupational health, as well as infection prevention and control experts. This is just one step we are taking to keep our senior population safe, while strengthening our response to a second wave For more information, go to https://novascotia.ca/news/release/?id=20201119004
