Another new Urgos Gf clock movement testing on the makeshift stand before going to its permanent home.
Beautiful chalet that is in for repair after coming off the wall twice. Nothing to major to fix but need some new chains as links are stretched and damaged and then a cleaning and fresh oil on the movement.
Another quartz clock ready to go home. Had to take the quartz movement apart to resolve this one. Not a big fan of taking them apart but it can be done and sometimes you can repair movements that are worth saving.
Hermle quartz(battery) movements are awful. That is all.
Some watches up for sale.
FOR SALE!!! Well folks.... due to some unfortunate circumstances this clock is now for sale from the repair shop. These clocks range in value from $2000-4000CAD in unserviced condition. This clock has been fully serviced and is ready to find a new home. It is with a heavy heart that this situation has happened but sometimes life takes a turn. I am hoping to find a quality home for this beautiful clock where it will be appreciated for years to come. Please inquire if you are interested in bringing this clock home! 403-580-6218
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! This is probably the WORST hack job I've come across yet although I've been quite fortunate in my time of repairing clocks. This is just a shame.
A happy customer is my #1 priority.
This nifty holiday quartz clock came in for repair last night for a complaint that the days were not moving and so a quick tear down and once put back together it's counting down the days till Christmas again.
Minute hand repaired, recoated black and now installed. I'm gonna be sad to see this one go home.
Another happy customer
Large Chalet Cuckoo Clock inner workings.
A long afternoon repairing this minute hand for the lantern clock. It was broken and poorly repaired and so with another tool added to the shop today (brazing torch) I was able to braze this hand back together with some bronze brazing rod and now it is ready to be recoated black and then back onto the clock!
After several attempts I finally was able to make some new hammer cushions from some scrap "bloodwood" I had laying around in the shop. Once they were turned down to the proper thickness they were hardened with a little bit of liquid CA and then sanded to fit into the brass hammers. I was surprised to see the broken ones made out of hardwood but knew exactly what to do to fix it. You can see some of my attempts in the second picture. Overall I'm very pleased with the final result and can now start fitting the movement back into the clock and then its on to repairing the hands which have already been repaired several times by the looks of things.
I decided to go one step further and polish and "blue" the screws on this fusee clock, this was a painstaking process having to polish each screw individually and then blue them with the torch one at a time as I don't have a bluing tray yet but it is certainly in the works after this clock! I've just finished putting the chains on and it is finally testing!!!!!
