Though known for it’s native grass ecosystem, #GrasslandsNP also has a diverse ecosystem around the Frenchman River valley. Here you can find frogs, turtles, beavers, muskrat and of course, moose. Can you spot all the leopard frogs? #NationalWildlifeWeek Photos: S. Liccioli
In a galaxy far, far away..or in this case a little closer to home. Though it may look like another world, this is a typical sunrise in #GrasslandsNP. #Maythe4thbewithyou #StarWarsDay @exploreorg

You’ve heard of a fox in the henhouse, but what about a coyote in a prairie dog town? Though it may not roll off the tongue as well, it is a common sight in #GrasslandsNP #NationalWildlifeWeek Photos : S. Liccioli
It’s that time of year again when snakes, including the prairie rattlesnake, start to emerge in the park. Here are some quick facts to start your day: Prairie rattlesnakes overwinter in hibernacula (dens) that protect them from freezing temperatures. Depending on local climate, rattlesnakes can spend 6-8 months in hibernation - dens are therefore a critical component of their habitat. Prairie rattlesnake are listed as Special Concern on the Species At Risk Act. Over the next... few weeks, rattlesnakes (and other species) will emerge from their dens and bask in their proximity during the warmest hours of the day. #SpeciesAtRisk Photo: S. Liccioli See more

The new year is finally upon us! Are you planning on celebrating with festivities, or having a quiet evening in your den like our friends at #GrasslandsNP? Whatever you choose remember to stay safe, and make sure to have fun!
#Didyouknow that like other prairie residents, the Black-tailed Prairie Dog found at #GrasslandsNP does not fully hibernate during winter. Just like us, they need to get things done during the day no matter how cold it is!
We can all take a lesson from the coyotes at #GrasslandsNP no matter how cold it is, always get together with your pack when you can and howl the night away!
From all of us at the Saskatchewan South Field Unit of #ParksCanada we wish you a happy and safe holiday season as we all celebrate apart together. May these days be as peaceful and joyous as a visit to one of our sites!
Winters can make things difficult for getting around #GrasslandsNP is our guess that a jolly person who will be out tonight will have to use one of these fellows to get around here instead of reindeer! Who wants to get close to see if their noses light up?
When you were a kid do you remember putting your tongue onto a metal pole to see if it would stick? Turns out the #bison at #GrasslandsNP like to do the same thing with frozen ground! Any volunteers to help unfreeze them?
What better way to start #TGIF than a fantastic view of the East Block at #GrasslandsNP? The prairie skies can always make you see more than what you believe - Jackson Burnett, The Past Never Ends
Although no one likes it when the temperature begins to drop on the Prairies, one benefit is that the stars seem to shine brighter in the night sky. It is easy to bundle up and ignore some colder weather nipping at your nose to enjoy views like this! #GrasslandsNP
