To the guy that makes Jiu Jitsu fun on a bad day. Congrats @mabalmes on earning your black belt! Mark was one of the first members at Gravity and we couldn’t be happier nor prouder of him. Watching his journey from white belt to black belt has been pretty awesome. A competitor, a teacher and an overall great person to have on and off the mats. You could get tapped out 6x by him in a match, but you’re still laughing at the end, ok maybe moreso Mark but that’s just the kind of positive and fun atmosphere Mark brings to the mats. To us, he’s more than just a friend, he’s family and we are lucky to have him training with us. So incredibly proud of these two! @justinpcruz and @sofeeya.n fought so hard today and were really on their game. Justin with the gold and Sofia with the bronze, a total of 7 fights and three subs. Also, huge congrats to @8bitbjj for the bronze in his division, 4 fights and 1 sub, while also ref’ing. Congratulations to all our students on your hard work and perseverance on the mats this weekend at the CBJJf tournament. If you didn’t get the results you wanted, use it as a learning tool to work on in the upcoming weeks. For some, you had a great day and our team was able to take home the 3rd place adult and masters gi trophy and 2nd place in kids no gi. Thanks again to Clayton Bundschuh Sandy and John for putting on a great tournament! Your hard work, especially during the day of allowed for a great experience to many competitors and spectators.

Sometimes competitions aren’t about medals and trophies but more about coming together as a support system to train, learn and help each other get better. It’s about bonding over a common goal and passion. Yesterday we saw that with our team and to say we are proud is an understatement. We are beyond proud of everyone that competed and so grateful for those that helped train and coached the team. Excellent comes as a result of consistency day after day until it becomes who you are.
