Cloe graduated from Boreal college in 2013, she worked in Thunder Bay for several years then took some time off to have her son Cedric and twin daughters, Olivia and Amelia. She is now back in practice and ready to spend her days taking care of your fur babies! Cloe’s favourite vet tech tasks are anesthesia and assisting in surgery.

Taylor graduated from Georgian College in 2019 and quickly obtained her RVT status! She is in charge of our special diet programs and loves helping owners benefit from our prescription diet options! When this RVT has time off she enjoys being with her fiance and fur babies. Taylor’s favourite vet tech tasks are phlebotomy, and of course helping with puppy and kitten appointments!

Alexa is our newest Veterinary Technician, she graduated from Sheridan College in April and just obtained her Registration after passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam. Alexa recently moved from Toronto to SSM with her family; she’s starting to enjoy the quiet, rustic life Northern Ontario has to offer. In her spare time you can find her adventuring and exploring the outdoors with her two huskies (Kato & Kya). In the clinic her favourite vet tech task is learning new lab skills! Give this RVT a virtual hug for all her hard work to get here!

COVID-19 Update As many of you have already heard, veterinary practices are now able to resume regular care. While this is good news for our patients, please keep in mind that we are still in a state of emergency and measures to limit COVID-19 exposure are still in effect. We take the health of our clients, staff, and fellow citizens very seriously. It is still important that we exercise appropriate physical distancing. What this means for our clients is that while we are no...w able to see more patients, we will still be practicing telemedicine wherever possible. To maintain physical distancing, we will not be allowing clients in the building. Patients will be brought in by a staff member for their exam. As a result, appointments will take a little longer than usual to ensure proper disinfection between patients. This means that we will not have as many appointments per day as we would under normal circumstances. And as always, urgent cases will take priority. For those whose pet’s vaccines and elective surgeries were canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will be starting to rebook those appointments in the order in which they were initially scheduled. Any non-urgent appointments that are currently booked will be pushed back accordingly. It is expected that it will take at least several months for vaccine appointments to get back on track. We will try to achieve this as quickly as possible while trying to keep everyone safe. During this transition period, we ask for your patience and understanding. The well-being of our patients is always our first priority. And while it is our goal to deliver service and care in a timely manner, we apologize if you experience prolonged wait times. I promise that we are all trying our absolute best, and with your co-operation, we will get through this together!

COVID-19 Update For the remainder of this week our clinic will be operating from 10am 3pm. We will be closed for appointments while operating by telemedicine as much as possible. Prescription and food orders will still be filled, but we ask that you pre-pay over the phone. Call us when you’re on your way and we will have your order ready for you outside. Food orders are expected to have a delay of 7-10 days from our distributor, so please try to plan your pet’s food needs 2 weeks in advance. Again, thank you for your patience! We will keep you updated.

In light of COVID 19, our clinic will be implementing a few new safety protocols that will be affecting appointments and food/medication orders. Our goal is to continue to provide necessary care to our patients while protecting the health of our clients and staff. Until further notice all routine vaccination appointments will be postponed with the exception of puppy and kitten vaccines which are more time sensitive. We will still be open 8am 5pm Mon-Fri for appointments fo...r sick or injured patients. Our after-hours emergency services will be available as usual. For clients that have a scheduled appointment, we are limiting our waiting room to one person at a time and one person per pet. We ask that you call or come in when you arrive to let us know you are here. We may ask you to wait in your vehicle until an exam room or waiting area is available. If you feel ill, please let us know ahead of time and do not enter the building. A staff member can meet you at your vehicle. In the next few weeks we are also expecting an increase in demand for pet food and medications. While it is important to make sure your pet has enough food and medication, we will be limiting purchasing to a 1-2 month supply per pet to help prevent an inventory interruption. At this time we are expecting a 2-5 day delay in food order delivery, so please try to call in your orders at least a week ahead of time. Orders can be pre-paid for over the phone to reduce in-clinic wait time. A staff member can bring your food or medication to your car. We really appreciate your patience and cooperation with these new protocols! Things may change day to day, but we will keep you updated.

For such a little cat, she had the biggest, spunkiest personality, and she will be missed every single day. Erie Dearie, heaven is so lucky to have you! Until we meet again beautiful girl...
