A man who owns a solar energy company in Windsor has been installing generating systems all over the Canadian Arctic. And lately he’s been taking bicycles with him, and leaving them behind for people who live there. Tony Doucette talks to Klaus Dohring about his dual fascinations, the Arctic and bikes on the CBC Windsor Morning Radio show.
The full article from the Inuvik Drum (NNSL Media) about solar heat energy and Klaus' solar cooker donations to Canadian remote communities.
The latest issue from the Inuvik Drum publication features an article on solar heat energy and Klaus' solar cooker donations in the remote communities where we've installed solar PV systems (as shown on the Solar Cookers International map as some of the northern-most).

Solar energy throwback from 1979, following the oil crisis. A piece of history that shows how much progress we've made with solar technology.
Our company President, Klaus Dohring, was recently interviewed for Makivik Corporation's Taqralik Magazine Issue 121, discussing the solar PV systems we designed and installed in Kuujjuaq, Nunavik at the Makivik head office and the Nunavik Research Centre. The article details how solar PV technology works and why it works better in Kuujjuaq than in Los Angeles!

Global clean energy, electric bike and agriculture markets are predicted to be worth $2 to $31 billion in the next two to five years and opportunities are developing for these industries locally. During the last 12 years, solar panel provider Green Sun Rising has had over 300 completed projects. Company president Klaus Dohring says new buildings present a chance for renewable energy. Why are we building new buildings that dont have solar systems in them. Why are we contin...uing to build stuff where we know in the next decades, we will need to retrofit, said Dohring. The World Economic Forum predicts 70,000 solar panels will be added every hour over the next five years globally.
We'd like to remind everyone that we're always available as a resource for learning about solar energy and technology. Yesterday we had a few students from St. Clair College visit us for project information. Good luck with your work!
