Some excellent food for thought when considering purchasing a re-sale condominium: Whilst not necessarily cause for immediate alarm, Kitec piping does pose a potentially serious and costly issue to condo owners across the city. This is why it is crucial to have a knowledgeable and thorough sales representative check the age of the building and follow up with property management with any concerns they may have prior to making an offer. Being stuck with ...the cost of replacing the piping yourself and risking having dramatically rising maintenance fees is not something a new owner wants to be caught unawares with. Ultimately, making an INFORMED and thought out decision in regards to purchasing any property is what a buyer needs, and I would agree that Condo Boards should at the very least, disclose in Status Certificates the existence of any Kitec piping in the property.
