Grosse Isle Women's Institute

I just saw this post on the Women's Institute page. Thought it was a neat idea. "Ladies I have idea. Last night I was at a very interesting Jane Robinson talk about her book (a force to be reckoned with) and we began talking about stereotypes for the WI and how they are largely very wrong. Then in bed last night it occurred to me that we have the perfect tool to begin to break that image right here. We could do a grass roots campaign on Facebook to show that the WI has as ...many different faces and interests as there are members. All we have to do is to take a photo (or a selfie if you are down with the kids) of ourselves holding a sign that says "I am WI" and post it on our individual timelines and set the security settings to public for that one post. If we all did it on a set day at a set time the impact could be amazing. If we all used the same hash tags then it becomes searchable and they can all be found in the same place. It could be amazing - WI Facebook Flash Mob! What a way to celebrate our diversity in our centennial year! I'm all excited again now I've written it down!!" See more
