Throughout the pandemic we've been supporting the work of local charities that are assisting the most vulnerable. Together with United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin we granted $5,000 to Royal City Mission to fund their Covid-19 Food Program. This program supports many in downtown Guelph's homeless community. The program aims to ensure community members receive two nutritious meals per day and COVID dangers are minimized. Many individuals in this population have multiple health factors, including diabetes, heart conditions, hepatitis, mobility issues and addictions that preclude them from being able to visit public places, they also lack transportation and funds to obtain food.
