Hello Alumni! Please see the message below from the Director of the School of Engineering: In the past few months our engineering co-op students have adapted to the changes and challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. That said, it has been an uphill battle and many students are struggling to find co-op opportunities and make ends meet. ... With questions coming in from engineering alumni inquiring how they can help we have included key points below regarding our co-op recruitment process for the Summer and Fall term and hiring incentives for employers. Our Hiring Process - We provide ongoing recruitment and support to set up postings, interviews and offers for the summer and fall terms. For the summer we will accept a minimum of eight weeks (280 hours) of work for co-op credit and co-op employers can post/interview and hire up until July 6th. For the fall term we will continue recruiting throughout the summer. Student Work Placement Program and Ontario Co-operative Education Tax Credit - your company may be eligible for up to $7,000 in wage subsidies for every co-op student you hire! Co-op Programs - Students available from over 30 programs, including our seven engineering disciplines If you/your employer is in the capacity to support our students we are here to help! We recognize and appreciate the strength of our engineering alumni community and hope all is well with you and your families.
