We are so pleased to support Parks Canada's Rouge Beach Improvements Project and to be working with them towards its implementation. We want to hear your thoughts about the project. Please click here to learn more and give your feedback https://www.pc.gc.ca//r/visit/projets-projects/plage-beach Briefly, the project will finally begin the restoration of the marshlands and beach ecosystems and improve ecological integrity of the area with significant inland marsh and aquatic ...habitat restoration, removal of invasive species, creation of habitat for species-at-risk, planting of thousands of trees and shrubs, the addition of wildlife crossings and passages. It includes a stunning and accessible trail connection between the mouth of the Rouge (Waterfront Trail) to rest of Canada's National Urban Park trail system. The trail with boardwalk will manage trail usage, allow sensitive aquatic and terrestial habitat to flourish and protect the privacy of ravine property owners, without impeding travel by kayak and canoe. The project’s public engagement phase began in February 2020 and has been extended until May 1, 2021. https://www.pc.gc.ca//r/visit/projets-projects/plage-beach

Couldn't agree more with Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger and Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward. I'm certain a solution to protect people when hazardous conditions exist but maintain public access otherwise can be found. We need to preserve those magically places where you can feel surrounded by Lake Ontario. Thank you for pushing for a better solution!

Don't put your bikes away for the winter yet! The weekend forecast is for sunshine and next week looks perfect for a bundled up fall ride. Photographer Martin Lortz spent a few days tackling sections of the Caledon Lakeside Ride. This route traverses two beautiful off road trails and some lovely lakeside riding all while staying close to the city. Check out his entertaining blog "Chipping away at the Caledon Lakeside Ride" https://waterfronttrail.org//chipping-away-at-the-caledon/
