Project Forest is a new non-profit created by Tree Time Services as a way to unite private sector companies across Alberta in an initiative to reduce carbon and rewild Alberta. The initiative partners with local industry leaders in a collaborative effort to plant forests. Unlike similar tree-planting programs the results from Project Forest can be seen right here in our own province. Habit's research process included stakeholder engagement and competitor analysis and brand ...positioning. From there, Habit developed a brand that is memorable, enduring and trustworthy, but approachable enough that audiences want to get to know the brand better. The name, Project Forest emerged from a list of options as the clear front runner. It has a sense of accomplishment, is uncomplicated and can withstand any future changes that might come to the program. From the name, we began crafting a brand story using a voice and tone that got people excited about the possibility of growing an entire forest, locally. We also developed a logo symbolizing a tree growing from a shovel, surrounded by the carbon capture process. We chose a colour palette based on nature, which includes earth, air, water, fire and forest. The result is a brand that instills confidence in people that by planting trees, we can affect real change - in our province and beyond.

Some people call her mom. Others refer to her as a bookkeeper. But at Habit, we think of her as the person who keeps it all together. With a Bachelor of Applied Business degree in accounting, Mickie is nothing short of a number virtuoso. The strangest thing about it all: she absolutely loves it. Aside from balancing the books and making sure everything adds up accordingly, Mickie takes care of her family’s hectic, non-stop schedulethough something tells us she’s formulated an equation for that, too.

As a former TV director and producer, Tim knows what it takes to bring a client’s vision to life, and brought that expertise with him when he founded Habit in 2003. Wanting an A-list team that could handle any creative project, he curated a talented group of website, design, and marketing geniuses who have developed brands and campaigns for businesses throughout Canada. Not many people get enthusiastic when they hear the phrase content management system. But when you’re a WordPress wizard like Nate with a diploma in digital media, nothing thrills you more. Except maybe web applications, but who doesn’t that excite? As Habit’s senior web developer, a fun day for Nate consists of writing code and using technology to solve real world problems. These things really make Nate happy, as does seeing a positive impact from the launch of a digital service or campaign.

What do you get when you combine a Bachelor of Commerce degree with an abundantly large ambition to bring it every day? You get Fiona, one of Habit’s account managers and an overall bubble of positivity. No really, we think she may actually be made from sunshine and rainbows. As the middle-woman between our clients and creatives, Fiona is key to ensuring the lines of communication always remain clear and open.
