Lighting the Christ Candle Greeting and Welcome Call to Worship responsive This is God’s new day! We lift our heart to God. Be awake! Be Aware! We are God’s own, gathered to worship. God intends new life for all of us. In faith, we come to celebrate the love of God. Opening Prayer with The Lord’s Prayer unison Many temptations pull us. Many habits imprison us, O God. Life can be a struggle for so many of us. Yet, in the silent depths of our soul, you invite us to your presence. Your message gives us hope for a reality that is so rich, so vivid, and so holy. In the prophetic imagination of our hearts we come here to worship, sing praises, and give thanks. In this time today draw out the best in our hearts, empower us to encourage and build each other up in faith, and guide us to find our own lives and the life of this congregation in your hope and in your love. This hope and love can be found in the prayer Jesus shared, which we now share Hymn: Immortal, Invisible VU264 Prayer of Confession unison God of Patience and Compassion, We bring before you all we have thought, said, and done. We confess the times we have tried to hide from you, when we have tried to ignore your call, pretended not to know what is going on around us, and sought to run away from responsibility. Proceeds will be used to cripple children. The outreach committee has enlisted 25 visitors to make calls on people who are not afflicted with any church. The Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at 10. All ladies are invited to lunch in the Fellowship Hall after the B.S. is done. Evening massage 6 p.m. The Pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the congregation would lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday morning. The audience is asked to remain seated until the end of the recession.

Thank you to everyone for your overwhelming support of this event. We look forwarded to thanking you all in person with 'parking lot air hugs' when you come to pick up your Thanksgiving Pies. Reminder pie pick-up is Friday October 9 - 3pm to 6pm and Saturday October 10 - 10am to 2pm. We have already reached the maximum of pies we are able to bake. Unfortunately we have to announce we are now 'SOLD OUT'

Haley United Church has been serving the community since 1873. In pre-pandemic times a joint anniversary service of Grace Admaston United and Northcote United would be held at Haley United. Sadly this is not able to take place this year. Help Haley United celebrate this 147th anniversary by joining one of their sister Church's services or by streaming here on Facebook Live. @haleyunitedchurch
