It's Friday! We are actually here on a rare Friday where we are seeing patients. We work on Fridays, but we are usually doing continuing education or paperwork that needed to be finished from the week, or just preparing for the upcoming week. Today we are seeing patients in an effort to provide more opportunities to make up the missed appointments from the end of March until early May. If you need anything, we are here! Yesterday was a special day at Hallmark Dental. It was ...my birthday!!! (Beth, not Dr. Hallmark) It was one of those extra special birthdays that end in zero. Ugh. Those are tough. It was a lovely, busy day here in the office, and that was a great birthday present for me. We were uncertain about opening up again, how it would work for us with our schedule and added procedures for checking in, making sure patients are kept separate, making sure patients feel confident and safe. It has not been a problem at all! Here's the part that has been just kind of wonky: Patients have to sit in the car and wait for us to wave them in. Sometimes we have a hard time finding everyone in their car, but that's usually a 2-second glitch. But y'all! When you sit in the car, you usually get a little bit warm! Haha. It's okay, though. Everyone's temp has been perfectly normal after a few seconds in the shade, and we are happy to say everyone has been healthy so far during our pre-check screening. Today I'd like to make a request to our friends to be thinking about possibly helping us out here at Hallmark Dental. We have a genuine need for an assistant here at our office. We have an employee who works as our assistant now, but we are searching for another set of hands to help Dr. Hallmark. If you know of anyone who might be interested in working in the dental field, or if you know of someone who has experience working in a dental office, we'd love to hear from them. Ou...r office is very laid-back, no pressure, good hours. We would love to talk to anyone interested for full-time or part-time work. We do prefer someone who lives fairly close to the Franklin/Brentwood area, as our experience in the past has shown that the farther away our employees live, the harder it is to get to the office consistently. The staff at Hallmark Dental-- Dr. Hallmark, Beth, Sarah, and Brittany-- want to say thank you to all of our patients who have been understanding about missed a...ppointments during a very interesting time for us all. We've been closed since March 24, and we are eager to start strong on May 6. We miss you guys! We are making a request of all our patients to tell your friends and neighbors about us. It has been a tough period for us to be completely shut down, and we want to get back to serving patients as quickly as possible. We'd like to meet new people that you introduce to us. We are taking extra precautions to protect everyone, so checking in is a little different now, but the way we see it, we get a chance to greet you at the door instead of accepting you from the waiting room. Routine oral hygiene maintenance and p...reviously planned restorative treatment of non-painful lesions will be postponed until after April 14th. Good morning, everyone! Our office continues to be open for our normal business hours. We have had some patients reschedule their appointments for later, and we understand that. There are patients who need our services now, so if you need us, know that we are available. Our doors are not closed. If you have an appointment scheduled with us, and you'd prefer to sit in your car until you can be seated, let me know. You'll have to email or call the office to let me know that's what you prefer. I'll text or call you to come in when your chair is ready.

Dr. Hallmark and the staff at Hallmark Dental want to let everyone know we are still operating as normal at our Cool Springs office. We would also like to reassure our patients that we take cleaning and sterilizing precautions very seriously, and this is nothing new for us. Here are some important points to consider: 1. We wear germ barriers-masks, gloves, coats, etc. when we take care of our patients. 2. Hand-washing practices are a normal part of every procedure. We make a ...point of washing our hands where our patients can see us, hoping to guarantee your confidence in our care. 3. Our instruments are sterilized or disposed of after each patient. Each room is cleaned after each patient. 4. We cover patients' eyes during procedures. Some of you don't really like that, but we are thinking of you and your health when we place the towel over your eyes. (If you hate the towel, ask for the goggles.) 5. Have you noticed our small waiting room? That was designed on purpose. We don't intend to have you wait for long periods in the waiting room. We want to see you as quickly as you come in the door if we possibly can. We didn't feel that a large waiting room was necessary when we built this office 12 years ago. We never plan to have you sit in the waiting room, and if you've ever had to wait more than 5 minutes, please know that something unusual happened to cause the delay. 6. Our office is cleaned daily, meaning the floors and waiting area chairs and counters and shelves. The bathroom is cleaned multiple times per day. We want to see you for your routine appointments as well as any needed treatment and emergencies during this time. We don't feel a need to cancel anyone's appointment. We hope you feel the same about keeping your appointments with us. However, if you need to postpone your appointment, call the office and someone will help you reschedule for a later time. It's important for you to be safe and to feel safe when you walk into our office for treatment.

Turnip greens update: One week after planting, we've got teeny little green plants! Yay! Here are some photos, and I don't want to hear anybody comment on my amazing photographer skills. We also planted some radishes and more kale, so some of the photos are baby kales and baby rashishes.

We had the best treat today. Sweet Emma accompanied her mom for her dental appointment and read to the temporary dental therapy dog we've been enjoying for the last week or so. Thanks, Emma. BB enjoyed the story!

After a long day at the dental office, Dr. Hallmark and I drove home and plowed the garden so we could plant turnip green seeds. This is how he indulges his wife, getting on his tractor and plowing up a little patch of dirt so she can throw teensy seeds into the ground that probably have a 0% chance of growing before the cold weather kills them. It's just that little bit of hope, though, that I'll have turnip greens to cook with my Thanksgiving dinner..... We'll keep you posted on the turnip greens' progress!

We've temporarily "adopted" a therapy dog for the dental office this week. This is BB. She is so quiet we forget she's here sometimes. And then suddenly we hear little doggie feets trotting behind us, and we remember this sweet puppy is visiting. Her mom IRL has gone on a little trip, and we get to enjoy her for a few days!
