Two Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) physicians are leading a McMaster University research project with Canadian medical device company Picomole Inc. to test breath screening technology developed to detect COVID-19 in patients. Since the Hamilton Health Sciences Volunteer Association (HHSVA) was unable to hold their volunteer recognition event in June due to the pandemic, they had to recognize this year’s HHSVA Life Member award recipients in another way. Most hourly awards were sent by mail this year, but curbside award presentations were made to two volunteer recipients earlier this month for their many dedicated years of service: Dave Gaylor and Otto Diehl. Helen Nevin and Dee Cherrington were also recognized for their service. Thank you to these volunteers and the many others who enhance the patient experience at our hospitals.
