Our thoughts are with the La Scie Regional Fire Deparment and Ambulance Service tonight as they battled the battle that all Departments fear. They fought long and hard to save their own hall. Hats off to all the dedicated firefighters!

Hampden Ambulance Service Incorporated Hiring a PCP. This position expected to become a permanent full-time position. Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly Salary...: $26.00/hr Closing Date: Open until filled Qualifications: Graduation from an approved paramedic program accredited by the Canadian Medical Association. Registration with PMO BLS Certification. Demonstrated training and/or experience in IV Therapy and symptom relief medications. A valid Class IV driver's license issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, or comparable. A current Driver's Abstract from Motor Vehicle Registration. A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority. The Employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner. (a)Provide emergency medical support to people who are injured or ill and transport them to Western Memorial Emergency, unless conditions warrant otherwise. (b)Based on sound knowledge, demonstrate rational problem solving abilities and excellent decision-making skills including, but not limited to, requesting back-up of higher trained personnel, if needed. (c)Perform duties in a calm, reassuring and efficient manner. (d) Ensure complete and thorough documentation of patient care activities. (e)After each call, replace any supplies/equipment necessary to maintain the performance of his/her duties and advise administration if supplies/equipment is not available. (f)Maintain his/her certification by attending continuing education and refresher courses as required by the PMO office. (g)Be responsible for the appropriate cleaning/disinfecting of the ambulance. (h)Other related duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned.
