I'm thrilled to be back at New Glasgow Farmers Market this Saturday. It will be different, everyone - outside, fewer vendors, social distancing etc., but it's a step towards our normal Saturday mornings. Can't wait to see regulars and even new faces, it's been a long time!! As I am outdoors and given the rules and limitations I will have a bit less than usual, but if there's something you are looking for let me know ahead of time and I'll try to bring it along. I'll have toys, puppets, toy hammocks, large shawls and market bags. My new products that were a winter and then Covid project are baby clothes - sweaters hats and new styles of booties. They can be purchased individually or in sets. I won't be at the market every week, so if you need something think ahead!!

Good morning! It's early Saturday morning and in pre-pandemic times, you'd be thinking about getting up and coming to Market and seeing your producers. You've m...issed that and we've missed you. We are excited to welcome you back on July 11th at 9am! While it seems we might be a bit slow in re-opening, we wanted to make sure we did it right and responsibly and could come up with solution that works for most people while respecting the guidelines. It also had to be a plan that we could handle. We are non-profit, volunteer organization with one employee. We survived the last months because of volunteers, vendors that volunteered, staff and you. Opening the Market means some of those volunteers that are vendors are now selling so it's a whole other pivot. Do you love online? Don;t worry, it's not going anywhere, it will just operate a little differently. We'll put out more details later. It won't be curbside anymore, but it can still be contactless. You will be able to shop and pick up your online order at the same time. Perfect if you forgot something, or maybe shop with an artisan you've missed....or just grab your order and go! Like every other business and organization, it will look a little different, but it's something! We could write on and on (and on) and we will post more later, but rest assured, all the protocols are in place to ensure a safe experience for you and for our vendors. ****IMPORTANT*** Due to overwhelming support, we have needed to make some major changes to pick up for online ordering. We would appreciate you reading and then... sharing and spreading the word. If the Market is to continue, it's very important that those ordering come in the appropriate time slots. We know there were unintended challenges with pick up and we have been working closely with the New Glasgow Regional Police to come up with a better system for pick up and that will keep the safety of you, our volunteers and staff as the highest priority. We have extended pick up from 2 hours to 14 hours over two days. We are still divided by last names, it is imperative that you come on your assigned day in your assigned time. If you come on the wrong day, your order will not be ready. SATURDAYS: Those with last names A-L A-E: 9:30 am - 11 am F-I: 11 am - 2 pm J-L: 2 pm - 4 pm SUNDAYS: Last names M-Z M-O 9 am - 12 pm P-T 12 pm - 2 pm U-Z 2 pm - 4 pm We understand that this may be an inconvenience for some, logistically it's not easy for us to do either. However, it is very important that we make changes to comply to the guidelines put in place during these unprecedented times. There may still be changes to make, this is only the first and second week. Please hang in there with us and thank you for your continued support of your local Farmers Market. Also, in order facilitate these changes, we are in need of refrigerated coolers and deep freezers. If you know of someone who would be willing to donate or lend, we would be grateful. We would also like to thank the New Glasgow Regional Police and Town of New Glasgow for helping us navigate through this so that we can continue to bring local, healthy food to our community. Adding a few more items to the baby clothes album. I would not have been at New Glasgow Farmers Market this month as today was the day to leave for vacation. My loss is your gain - LOTS more inventory will be available when things get back to normal!! As ever if you want any items contact me and I can make arrangements for safe pickup or drop off.

To our amazing community, Like many others, we have been waiting and watching recent events unfold. We of course tried our best to hang in there to continue to... provide healthy food to our community and keep supplies moving for our farmers, producers and artisans in the amazing environment you are used to. However, while gatherings of 50 could be doable, it is not the right thing to do. Now is the time for social distancing and we care enough about you, our vendors and volunteers to do just that. The decision has been made to close the Market until such time as it is safe to re-open. That being said, we are working on an alternative that we think will be amazing and hope to have more information on that soon. You can also find our vendors contact info on our website at ngfarmmarket.com and we'll have information on any other ways they come up with that you can get their products as we have them. Although I'm not at New Glasgow Farmers Market over the winter, I will be back in May and I've been working on some new items. Check out the additions to the "Baby Clothes" photo album. I've always had blankets and booties, but many people have asked me for clothing items and I've taken advantage of my time off to make some. If you want any of my products before May, message, phone or email me. Keep checking the new album too, I'll be adding items as I make them.
