I sent this to Adam Van Koeverden Please explain this to me! Why is it that our business’s ,Dojo’s are excluded?? This is one small group , that happens to be ...running non profit, and called themselves Ontario Karate Federation! so they get to open first and have a financial advantage and access to students first over the non Karate Ontario dojo’s. Which we happen to be tax paying businesses in Ontario How is it they get to open before the rest of us? We are all. Martial Art Schools and we can run a non contact school teaching only kata and weapons? The government has not opened any other business sector this way with preference to one particular group in that sector Please explain why there business should get this advantage over ours. We have been out of work since March ! This group actually brags about getting a advantage over us That is unfair and the government created this unfairness. We should be given the same timeline! I CAN’T BREATHE! RACISM and BIGOTRY are diseases that come from the inaccurate belief that one being, one race, one nationality, one religion, one colour is gre...ater, better, more significant or closer to GOD than all others! WE ARE ALL THE SAME! I used to run classes in the schools and this would be the first topic of conversation. I approached it by simply saying to the kids we are all the same just wrapped in a different colour of cellophane! And in what world would I this machismo guy LOL have chosen Pink! This always brought laughter and it started a position of trust! I truly love and respect all the good people I’ve met regardless of anything other than the fact they are human! No one deserves to be a victim of Super Ego, all wrapped up in fear! This kind of thinking and action needs to stop ! I know this has been said before but it’s worth repeating! Love one another, seek peace, respect all Life and make this World a better place for our Children, Grandchildren and all the good people of the WORLD! My condolences to all people who have been the victim of Racism, Bigotry and abuse of any sort! I CAN’T BREATHE To me is a statement that we all need support, safe space to grow, live, develop and love together! Please think about what has happened and know it must start with you and me standing up for right! No more tragedy because of ignorance or omnipotence! My love and respect to all good people! Shin Ji Kan dojo history! Bottom right is the marker board made by Taguchi Sensei for his first Shobu (branch) dojo given to Toyama Sensei! Top right is the mar...ker board made for me by Toyama Sensei (International Headquarters) Canada! The board on the left I just made for Michael Marion’s Shobu (Branch) Canada Dojo! Very proud of our lineage and Michael Marion for his dedication to Shin Ji Kan Kai Kai Shin Karate and to our friendship! Love and Respect always! See more

This is normally the month that The Canadian Cancer Society offers the daffodils for donations! So many people and so many of my friends have past from this nas...ty disease! I just had a thought this morning that many of us would normally be getting daffodils and donating at this time. So my thought was very simple that each of us should donate whatever you can 1$ 5$ 10$ in the name of someone you’ve lost, to your local Cancer Society! England, United States etc. They still need the funding!!! Love and Respect to all! Stay well and stay safe! Please Share! See more

Every now and then you touch Greatness, Toyama Zenshu 10th Dan Founder Shin Ji Kan(my hand on his)! Every now and then you touch History! It’s a rare moment to ...touch both! This is the first Shoreikan Dojo sign given to Toyama Sensei by Toguchi Sensei for his Dojo in Awase! We are in Sensei’s dojo at his old home in Okinawa City, which is now a part of history as well! Our Shin Ji Kan Kai Kai Shin dojo has strength in it’s History! As Sensei Monty Guest took this picture! Proud of my Sensei’s and their amazing gifts! Thank you! See more

Martial Arts is the same as all Arts! It is the Artist that makes the Art! Respect to all those that showed me! It allows me to be the Artist I want to be!Martial Arts is the same as all Arts! The area marked is the Kissaki (the curved edge at the tip) this is the area of the sword that when sharpened does the most damage and cuts the deepest! The Say...a or scabbard is designed to protect the blade without touching it! The Habaki (brass fitting that locks into the Saya) sits in the koguchi (the female end of the fitting) tightly which holds the blade from coming in contact with the Saya! Simply the practice of drawing the sword takes years of dedication to draw the Katana from the Saya this is Iado! Nakamura Sensei worked on a movie with me. In our down time we talked about and he showed me the intricacies of simply drawing the blade! Judging sword form for me is usually over in the first draw of the blade! The blade must come out and be put back in without ever touching the inside of the scabbard! I personally find flipping the blade in the air as disrespectful to the spirit of the Art! Dulling the blade by dragging it out of the Saya is unforgivable! See more
