I am now offering Reiki sessions for your animal. For those who have never come in contact with it, here is a brief summary: Reiki is a traditional form of healing originating from Japan. The practitioner lies their hands on the body of the client, which promotes deep relaxation as well as supports the body's own natural healing abilities. It is important to point out that Reiki falls into the category of energy work, and most Reiki practitioners are not doctors, so Reiki ne...ver replaces medical consultation or treatment from a doctor or naturopath. Having said that, Reiki has proven to be beneficial either on it's own for stress relief and relaxation, or in combination with traditional treatment of a knows illness. There are two paths of Reiki, "Jikkiden Reiki", as well as "Western Reiki". Both originate from the same source and teachings, but have developed differently over the years. "Western Reiki" has been heavily influenced by western culture, while Jikkiden Reiki keeps things simple and tries to stay as original Japanese as possible. Neither is better or worse, both styles have the same end goal and use their hands and energy in an attempt to promote healing in the body, mind and spirit. Personally, I like to keep things simple as well as as natural as possible, so I took my training in Jikkiden Reiki. I am certified in both, Shoden (hands on Reiki), and Okkuden (distant Reiki). For humans, a session takes between 1-1.5 hours, but animals are a lot more receptive to energy work. Generally, 20-30 minutes are enough, but the animal will tell us.
