We have few before and after school spots available and a few lunch spots for grades 2 and up. Due to the staggered lunch time, the kids are walking to Happy Home Child Care with their cohort buddy. A break from school and a hot lunch. Contact [email protected]. Be safe, be kind.

The Learning Curve In a matter of days 87% of us are returning our children to in-class education. Parents are anxious, kids are anxious ,Staff and administration, custodian, daycare workers...we all are. Can we as a community remember the most important points in the upcoming weeks? The safety of our children, and all the staff that are working to provide them a safe environment to learn. There is still a global pandemic, no one is unique and we must all follow the protocol...s and guidelines set out by our school regarding the drop off and pick up of our children. Go to your designated area, do not enter the school yard. Your child will be fine. Confusion creates chaos and negative behaviour. Be kind to one another, be tolerant and patient, a quick and efficient drop off. A drawn out drop off can make your child feel anxious and worry that something is wrong. Kids pick up on our fears. Take your first day 'back to school' photos at home. Please please do not park your vehicle in any area surrounding the school especially Brookdale and Fairlawn ,kids and parents/caregivers will be wearing masks which may affect vision for the wearer. I heard a story where a little girl comes home from kindergarten with a different mask on from the one her mom gave her to wear. She traded with her friend as they liked the other's more. It's going to happen! Be gentle with your child, they are young and learning especially from you. Some things are out of our control and the teachers and school. A reminder that we are all in the same boat, some are rowing faster than others, some slower and some are not rowing at all. Do your part, Care for one another, Practice patience and tolerance. I can viscerally feel the anxiety of parents, caregivers, teachers, staff and kids towards the upcoming school year. Do what is right for your family. We are opening for before and after school and still waiting on guidance from the school regarding the lunch hour. A few spots have opened in the morning, lunch and after school program at Happy Home Child Care for John Wanless Community Public Discussion Group (grade 1-6 age children only). We are a small home based daycare and all public health protocols and guidelines are being followed. Lunch program offered will be based on school protocol TBD. ... We are pleased to announce that the morning, lunch and after school will resume on September 8. Public health protocols will be in place. We are waiting for more information from the TDSB to finalize our schedule and timing especially regarding the lunch program. This is usually how we end the school year a big party but things were a little different this year. This is a photo from a few years back minus the kitty pic. The faces may be different but the feelings of love are the same. There are always lessons to be learned no matter what the situation and I know that my daycare children have been resilient. We work together as a team. Have a safe, healthy and happy summer.

We are still following school protocol and will be closed until school begins in September. Updates will be provided as to procedures in the coming months. Our wait list is still open for grade 1-6 only. Deposits are not required at this time. We miss you.

I've knit 3 children's sweaters in 5 days. My hands are exhausted!!! Lol.
