I wonder if this Dr. Dolittle will be a veterinarian when she grows up? What do you think? P.S. those are daddy’s hands not mine! #DoctorDolittle #DoctorMary

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give you a quick update on Zara. She went back to Toronto yesterday to see her special vet and he continues to be surprised by her progress. Between visits she actually had almost 2 full weeks of no respiratory symptoms, and her weight shot up to over 25 ounces. Which is still extremely small, but compared to what she was, it’s a major victory! Sadly just a couple of days before going back to the vet she got the snuffles again, but it looks like s...he has beat it and is on the road to recovery! Zara will probably always be a day-to-day bun. Meaning, we just don’t know how much time we will have with her Especially since there is no actual diagnosis. She was supposed to get blood taken again, however because of her respiratory distress, as soon as she becomes stressed it shoots up to the point where she is in serious panic which is highly dangerous for a rabbit of course. So they had to skip taking like this time. At this time we know she has chronic respiratory issues, and will suffer with this for her entire life. But like I’ve always said, I made a commitment to her when starting her care that as long as she still had fight left, I would do whatever needed to be done to help her.

Move? I think not! I’m not moving until dinner! Unless we have a snack. I’ll consider moving then. Depending on the snack. Ok, I’ll move for any snack. ~ Mia

We’ve just been told that as of 12:01 AM Thursday we will have another provincial lock down. It seems covid does not wanna go away, and instead prefers to mingle and make several different variants. These variants are apparently much worse than the original virus and they say it’s as if we are fighting a second pandemic. As a mom, a director of a charity, a community member, a regular human being, this is really scary. So what does it look like for the future of Happy Tale...s? We’re still working that out. It’s pretty hard to make plans when the pandemic is always crashing them. #pandemicblues

If anyone deserves breakfast in bed it’s Anna and Peggy! * please note - we know Anna’s hooves are very long. Anna was neglected so badly that her hooves had never been trimmed and when she first came to us she couldn’t walk as they we so overgrown and twisted.
