Last spring I was getting to know my underwater drone and shot this footage (significantly shortened). Look at all these little guys down there. Has to be a food source. I watched a great video from the Lindners that talked about micro invertebrates that live in the bottom of cold lakes. The cisco love these apparently. In the evening the invertebrates come up from the depths and the Cisco right behind them. And from above are the apex predator walleye feeding on the cisco. We see this nearly every night on our depth finders. You can see big clouds of bait fish sometimes over 100 feet deep rise to 30-40 feet at dusk. Like clock work. And if you are lucky there will be big hooks (the walleye) gorging themselves. So, I think we have found the bottom man on the food chain in this video!

Christmas has come early. Orvis sent me some more guide hats for my wonderful staff who didn’t get any this past season as Orvis ran out. Off to the post office I go. Staff.....here they come!
